poly vita is an isometric puzzler, port of a 2-year-old mobile game. despite appearances it's not like hitman go, as you're using non-rotatable tiles to create paths to all the soul fragments on a level, then to the exit. maya can only move between nodes, not tile by tile, and only once a valid path is available. walking speed is fine but double-click should make the poor girl run or just appear at the destination, there's a lot of back and forth. 30 levels unlocked one by one in a linear fashion, the scenery changes after every few. no timer or move limit, but there are achievement-only limited move challenges for some levels. no indication of any of it in-game, which is poor design. at the very least they should be marked after completing them the first time and a move counter could be available on retries. no undo either, would be nice, but due to the game's nature it's not really necessary. no fail states per se, you simply can't leave the level until every fragment is collected, but restarting might be quicker sometimes. new mechanics get introduced occasionally, like pressure plates removing spikes. what's interesting/unfortunate is, due to the 'you can only move on a valid path' rule and the no dying thing, it's not possible to place a pressure plate that would trigger the spike either way by the time you get to it, because the other end is or would be blocked by said spike. portals and rotating tiles are inevitable and there are big-ass spiders too. again, no dying, so they're just moving obstacles going back and forth after every turn on differently-marked tiles. controls are mouse-based, but esc also brings up the menu and 'r' resets the tiles (not the level). hold left click to pick up and place or remove tiles (simply clicking should be an option), right click on two already placed ones swaps them. nice feature that shouldn't be advertised on level 2, where it's not possible, as there's only a single slot to place things. also, tile placement is a bit finicky, need to position them almost to the pixel and if let go at the wrong place, they fly back to their original position. can't simply replace a tile by dragging another one over it, have to remove it first, which is always annoying. mouse wheel zooms but it's pretty useless and unnecessary (though levels could be zoomed in more by default), and scrolling level select with it is practically impossible, stick to dragging. the presentation is nice, soothing audio (except the too loud sound effects compared to everything else), but settings are barebones. resolutions and windowed mode, separate toggles, no volume settings. only the audio toggles are available while playing, level numbers appear briefly at the beginning. gameplay is nothing out of the ordinary, nor challenging, but it's fine and pretty relaxing for the couple hours it takes to finish. it could do without the usual lazy mobile port issues, and even then the pc version shouldn't cost 3 times as much ($1.99 vs $5.99 or 4.99 eur). the demo was also removed after a while, another practice that shouldn't be a thing. definitely wait for sale.
Too short and too easy, almost feel like this game is a proof of concept, like an alpha or something. It tries to copy the art style of Monument Valley but fails, does not look as nearly as good. On the other hand this is actually a puzzle game, and not a walking simulator like Monument Valley.
This is a beautiful little isometric puzzle with relaxing gameplay. Place tiles to help Maya collect the pieces of her soul. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/2SBnnMTButo If you are looking for a game with a relaxing setting, then Poly Vita is a must-play. The design of the world and the puzzle mechanics feel like something from a far off mystical dream world. The initial levels may seem like a piece of cake, but difficulty increases as you progress. + Beautiful Design. + 30 unique levels with increasing difficulty. + Polished, relaxing gameplay. + Suitable for people of all ages. + The game is easy to learn. + Comfortable mouse control. + Achievements. Отличная релакс головоломка !!! Прохождение 1-10 уровней https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GSXrSsH8H4&ab_channel=SokolFreeChannel
This puzzle game lacks diversity. The concept is too limited.
This game is for someone who likes to solve puzzles in a relaxing atmosphere, basically. It's my case, for example. Before playing Poly Vita I had just played a game that kept me on my toes a few times, so when I started this one, I actually felt relieved that I could just sit back and look at the screen to find out what I had to do to solve the puzzles. It was fun that sometimes the levels were super easy for me and then, all of a sudden, I got stuck for several minutes. XD This change in difficulty is probably something personal, but it kept me interested all the way until the last level. Short and sweet. Great work!
Great short game. You'll get around 1-3 hours out of it playing through the puzzles normally. Art style reminds me a lot of Monument Valley, but the gameplay is definitely different. Puzzles are not too challenging since you can push through a lot of them with trial and error, but some of the minimum path achievements are really hard. Got the game on sale for $2 but it's worth full price imo
It was a funny game. Initially the movements and mechanics are basic, but the challenge is revealed in the final stages and especially for those who want to unlock all the achievements. Totally recommended for those looking for a beautiful relaxing experience that offers challenges at the level of chess!
Poly Vita is a fun puzzle game that sucks you in right away. It starts simple but along the way there are may features that get you into the game and keep you playing more. It is a game that people of all ages and genders will enjoy. Everything from the music, to the sound effects, to the game design is original and very relaxing yet stimulating. I would definitely recommend this game to people of all ages who want to play a relaxing puzzle game at a very fair price!
Poly Vita has similar vibes to Monument Valley yet still manages to be unique in its own way. Soft color pallets & sensory - friendly levels for novice puzzles to experienced ones alike. Truly a nice game. Check out my own gameplay in the YouTube link below if you'd like to see more of the game. Enjoy & happy gaming ~ 🍃 https://youtu.be/vrk_YrZld9U
