2048 for those who like poker! For poker beginners, like me, it's quite handy as a way to memorize poker hands. The sound effects are remarkably fun!
Great game, i love play poker and puzzles, poker and solve puzzles together is awesome, the music is relaxing, very good game for relaxing and forget the day to day problems
poker hands mixes the matching mechanics from games like 2048 with the rules of poker. move all available cards at the same time and try to create hands (5 cards) according to the goals displayed in the top right corner. pushing cards against walls merges them, but you can also use incomplete hands to block, as you can't merge two hands of 3 cards, for example. possible combinations can be brought up at any time (click them for a text description), but there are only two more mechanics. poker islands on the sides of most levels release cards, unless they are blocked, then they move elsewhere and release a card there. the other mechanic is numbered tiles, representing the amount of cards you can discard there, then they turn into gaps that can also be used to your advantage. 50 levels without a turn limit, only one unlocked at a time, but some levels are timed, meaning the goal starts relatively low, maybe with a pair, and if the timer runs out, stakes get higher and you'll need a set to pass the level, for instance. about every 10th level is like this and it's not too bad. takes about 2 hours, graphics are acceptable, but there's a lot of wasted screen space, which isn't a good look, yet no level numbers, the help screen has to be brought up every time, and some poker islands are off-screen. audio is good, but even with volume settings patched in, the timer fixed (it used to go down while the help screen was on or while alt+tabbed) and resolution options and windowed mode made available via the unity launcher, it's not a very good experience, as there is no undo and there are no hotkeys (only esc as a way to leave the level), so despite the low asking price, I don't recommend buying it.

I'm terrible at this
This game conceptually has something going for it. Combining numbers in 2048 being translated into combining cards to make a hand is a pretty cool idea, but this implementation is not it. 2048 has two random elements: where will the next number spawn and will it be a 2 or a 4. These are small random elements that help each game be a bit different from the last. This game has random elements in 1. where the cards will come from (you can see where it will be added, but you have no idea where the one after will go) and 2. What card will spawn (52 possibilities rather than just 2). I have been screwed over by a 4 spawning rather than a 2 in 2048, but I feel like I should've given myself an out. In this game, you will need to make a royal flush and a straight flush, so you take care of the former and almost build a straight flush but I just needed a blue 3 or a blue 8 to make it so I spawn card after card after card and it never shows up. The randomness in 2048 adds flavor, but the randomness in this game is the whole game. It doesn't make each time feel different enough to keep me on my toes, it just makes me frustrated. At times, it feels more like a troll game. Maybe the first 30 or 35 levels are decent, but at least by level 45, it just becomes terrible.
I paid a dollar for this game and got an hour and 15 minutes of enjoyment out of it. It was better for me than buying a double cheeseburger at McDonald's. Reasonable value for the its pricing. Some of the other reviewers have commented that the user interface needs more features; they obviously missed the fact that the developer is "Minimol" games. I personally liked the simplistic ui.
I know it's a budget game but I've enjoyed this developers chess-themed titles. This one has arrow key controls but the reset button must be clicked with the mouse instead of just mapping it to R, so I decided not to play it on my steam deck even though I thought it would be perfect I didn't want to have to keep tapping on my screen to reset. Not exactly a puzzle game because of the randomness of the cards, so the whole thing feels incidental overall.
Poker Hands is a simple/minimalist ripoff of the old Flash/Browser game, 2048, where you "push" numbers around a grid, making like numbers collide to get the biggest multiple you can. The only twist here is that you use playing cards and create poker hands instead of multiples. What a twist. It's from Minimol who are serious shovelware purveyors, dumping mobile apps and browser games onto Steam as cash grabs, and Poker Hands is no exception. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the fixed resolution sprites/raster images used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the mediocre 2D visuals. The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. Because this is a console game, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the inferior console gaming appliances (Nintendo Switch appliances in this case) that the game was designed for. Problematically, even for a console game, the user interface for this game is just a panel with a few static images... it might as well be a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers. Poker Hands is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
