Pocket Lint zero

5 levels and no achievements is a bit lackluster

Pocket Lint zero is a small deduction game that takes a very simple idea and makes me think harder than I expected. I am given a collection of random pocket items and I have to work out which combination the game has secretly chosen. I make guesses, get information about what I got right or wrong, and then use that information to narrow everything down. There is no complicated story or huge amount of stuff to learn, which I actually like here because the puzzle itself is clearly the whole point. What makes the game work for me is the way I have to use the information properly. I cannot just keep making random guesses and hope I eventually get lucky. I have to eliminate possibilities and think about how much useful information each guess could give me. The divide and conquer approach makes the simple item selection more interesting because I am constantly trying to reduce the number of possible answers. Once I start understanding how the clues work, getting the answer in fewer guesses becomes a nice little challenge. I also like how each round changes the selection of items and the colour palette. It is a small thing, but it stops the game from feeling completely static. The hand drawn presentation is simple and cute, and I think that suits the relaxed nature of the puzzles. I am not dealing with timers or complicated controls, so I can take my time and actually think through what I have learned. That makes it a good game for short sessions when I want something that uses my brain without becoming stressful. The biggest weakness is the limited amount of content in this free version. Pocket Lint zero only gives me the first five levels from the full Pocket Lint campaign, so I can understand the basic idea quite quickly. The puzzle system itself has enough potential for a longer game, but five levels is not enough for me to get a huge amount of variety from it. Once I understand the main method, I am mostly looking for more difficult combinations rather than completely new mechanics. I also think the simplicity works against it sometimes. There are no big progression systems, story sections or extra activities to give me another reason to keep playing once I have finished the available puzzles. That is not really a problem with the design because this is clearly meant to be a focused deduction game, but it does limit how much I can get out of the free version. I would rather have a small game that knows exactly what it wants to do than one that adds pointless features, though, and Pocket Lint zero stays focused. Overall, Pocket Lint zero is a clever little puzzle game that I enjoyed more for its thinking than its presentation. I like the process of testing combinations, eliminating possibilities and trying to solve each puzzle with as few guesses as possible. The free version is quite limited and there is not much outside the core deduction system, but the actual puzzle idea is solid and easy to understand while still giving me something to think about. For a free introduction to the full game, I think it does its job well. Rating: 7/10

[1일차] 주어지는 오브젝트들을 올바르게 배치해야 합니다. 임의의 오브젝트를 선택한 뒤 칸 위에 올리고 확인을 할 수 있죠. 정답 아님 / 정답에 포함되지만 위치가 틀림 / 위치까지 맞음에 대한 수를 안내해 줍니다. 이를 확인하여 배치한 오브젝트를 바꾸거나 위치를 변경하면서 답을 찾아야 하죠. 레벨에 따라서 동일한 오브젝트가 여러개 주어지는 경우도 있고, 3개의 칸이 주어지지만 2개만 배치해야하는 레벨도 존재합니다. 그리고 5개의 레벨을 깨면 끝이죠. [아쉬운 점] -데모라지만 5판으로 끝은 너무 짧다
