I don't like having to say this but I really don't like this game. They streamlined Eden's gameplay to such an extent where it barely feels the same. The swinging is just this automatic thing you start doing at full speed, in the first game swinging is all physics based to where you actually have to start yourself going to get speed to jump up via letting go. This game feels wrong and scratches against my brain in an odd way because of the unnecessary change to the raw gameplay. I'll keep playing this to see if it grows on me but if you're like me who played the original game in 2009 and it's such a soft spot for you with it's unique gameplay, it's a completely different thing here and you might like it more but I definitely like it less.
Great looking, great sounding, mechanically simpler than the original, with one-button mobile controls and much less emphasis on physics, overall a downgrade on the first.

I loved the first game. I love this one too. The procedural environments are great but they kind of made the rope weird. It had a cool feel in the first game, more physics. Here the rope is just a hard perfect circle. That's my only gripe.
thanks for not forgetting about pc players. i have been patiently waiting for this. <3
Feels great, music's good. Brings me back to the PS3. LOVE that I don't have to run DS4Windows to be get PS icons, just had to turn off Steam Input and everything worked perfectly. Great game to just chill to after work or before bed. Only things I don't like is how short a "tap" really has to be to register as such. And jumping off of rocks often keeps you stuck until you spam jump a few times.
Sooooo as someone who also played the first game back on PS3 just wanted to give a quick imprssion. In the first 20 Mins both me and my Coop friend wanted to Alt+F4 because it feels so different from the first game but after an hour and some getting used to its fun enough in Coop. Maybe unlocks will Spice it up. Qoute from my friend: This game is so controller optimized Mouse and Keyboard shouldnt be an option,
Initial impressions after ~1hr of play: - The game mechanic in the original Eden is light years better than Eden 2. Not sure what the game designers were thinking, Eden 2 would have been a home run if they'd just used the original Eden with more levels. - Jumping is hit-n-miss with a controller, you don't really know where you're going to end up when you start hitting buttons while swinging. In the first Eden you knew where you were going and could time your swing and cutting loose. In Eden 2, its all very unpredictable and the grimp gets pulled in bizarre directions. - The timer is a massive pain and makes the game unenjoyable. You have to find checkpoints to extend the timer and that timer goes down *quickly*. The original Eden mechanic of gathering gems to extend your "energy" bar was so much better because you could get those much easier. Now its like "where the f*ck is the next checkpoint". - I refunded Eden 2 once but decided to buy it again. Maybe this will grow on me but I'm not hopeful.
