About
Pixel Starships 2 is a starship building and battle game in an MMO universe. Featuring full ship customization, online fleets, exploration, programmable AI, detailed planning, micro-management, and complex battle tactics. The strategy mechanics are inspired by games such as FTL, Eve online, and Final Fantasy, and XCom.
Engage in epic real-time or asynchronous battles in Pixel Starships 2, where you command your fully-customized starship in strategic PvP and PvE combat across the galaxy. Layout your crew, program advanced battle AI, and unleash devastating combos as you face off against players from around the world in intense tactical showdowns.
In addition to a new graphics engine, PSS2 introduces a number of new gameplay mechanics. Oxygen and door access is now available. Ensure your mission critical rooms are well connected. New weapons facilities such as the bomb launcher introduce a new layer of depth. Room placement is even more important with bonuses for optimal placement.
The programmable AI system is back with improvements. New filtering conditions allow fine-grain control for AFK setup. At the same time new AI chip unlocking, Presets, Layouts, and Templates allow quick strategic changes.
The economy in the game is entirely market driven. You can loot, mine, craft, and re-sell items and equipment. Take advantage of resources in specific regions to create rare items. Control lucrative planets and trade routes for maximum economic advantage.
Discover new races and crew each with new unique abilities. Crew members now have 6 core stats, plus 4 resistance and skill stats which can be trained and leveled up to take on various specializations. Send your crew on new away missions to take down monsters on different planets.
eSports tournaments are a big part of Pixel Starships. New league and tournament modes are coming soon. The tournament system is now split into amateur and professional leagues to suit differing level of play.
We will continue to post development updates on the steam page and forums. Please add the game to your wishlist to receive upcoming updates.

It is a good game and fun to play so I do recommend it. The major problem I see is that unfortunately, it is very pay to win. There is no path for a regular player to get far without spending a lot of cash. I hope the DEV team works on addressing this and I am sure this game will be a success. Ultimately everyone has the ability to upgrade your ship to the same level, the ship is not the problem. The real differentiator is the crew, and modules. There is no path for you to get end game crew without spending significant amount of cash to even be able to compete with big spenders. So if this does not change, it will just be the big spenders battling it out between them until PS3 is developed and then the cycle will repeat.
18-Mar-2026 In it's current state I can not recommend this. Play the first one if you want to play this type of game.

Why this fits me: Space strategy focused Heavy resource farming, playable in short (~5 min) or long sessions Cross-platform: PC, Android, iOS Has gacha mechanics (crew), but still considered reasonably F2P-friendly Long-standing pre-release with frequent patches Active dev team and regular balance updates Known for a strong, helpful community structure The 400+ hours on Android also matches the kind of long-term progression loop the game is built around.
pointless, if so inlcined just use the ios or android version

Removal of mining drones is a tragedy, now you have to choose between mining and upgrading which makes the game a whole lot slower to progress. Also the markets are starbux only and doesn't support being able to buy listings with minerals or gas
its fun and has alot of features and a little grindy
Buggy Pay-to-Win hell, don't play! Even half a year after the EA release, even the tutorial is bugged, which says a lot about the quality of the game... In addition, the game is unfairly balanced; due to randomized enemies, sometimes you get AI enemies that don't even have weapons or life support aboard (the enemy crew is downed at combat start). In the next mission of the same mission streak, you encounter an enemy ship that basically one-shots you. For whatever reason, you can't build or upgrade your ship's rooms without spending real money—I upgraded rooms twice today, and since then I've received a message saying that I exceeded my limit of "building" and I have to spend 50 bucks of real-money currency to go on... Yeah, why would you let someone play the most basic mechanics without making them pay? lol New crew members are mostly acquired by a random gacha game for real money (you can only get 1-3 star crew with in-game currency; 4-5 star crew can only be obtained with cash).
Good
Interesting game but progression is way too slow. Also the "language choice" system is incredibly buggy as it repeatedly swaps away from english. If they dramatically increased resource production and fixed the language bug, I would change my rating.
