I do enjoy this. It feels like a labor of love. I recommend it, but with some caveats. It's a little crashy so you should save often, especially if you just accomplished something. Would benefit from an auto-save option. Sometimes characters get stuck on invisible objects; if this happens to an NPC during a cutscene the game gets stuck and you have to restart. Had to rage-quit a couple times. Walk away and come back to it. Battle has some balancing issues mid-game where the pugilist deals 15-20 DMG per attack and the main character blasts away at 250-350 per. Makes Woof only function as healer and taunter. That all being said: the story is fun in Lovecraftian way, pixel graphics are well done, map system is great (police barriers disappear as you unlock areas), controls are simple with just action/cancel/d-pad. This is worth supporting for the reasonable price and possibility of future updates.
I Resiliently started, and I really love it!!!!!
Rare RPG with investigation and grinding; Its fun and since im pixel graphic lover, this is in my playlist for sometime now
Love gambling in the casino..
Got softlocked because plot critical enemies refuse to spawn. Such appalling incompetence.
Interesting and fun anti-hero characters, plot is interesting. However the core fighting mechanics are mostly clunky and boring: running away is basically impossible, some quick-time-event based skill inputs are not registered when playing with an official XBOS One controller (even though the Steam page says it supports it). Random encounters are almost unavoidable and in huge quantity. I spent most of my 13 hours of gampleay fighting grunts, which wasn't very fun. Also some design choices are a bit awkward: you need to go to a specific location to edit your weapons with stuff that is in your inventory. I'm leaving a positive review because I can see the love that the devs put and the plot is good, but I really recommend them focusing on Quality Of Life and playtesting moving forward.
I'm really enjoying it! The setting is huge and detailed, the combat is satisfying, there's a lot of skills & upgrade systems, and the music is kickin'. Great variety all around, great stories & dialogue. I sank in 7.5 hours on my first day with it :D
Cool idea.
I backed this game almost 10 years ago. I love the style and atmosphere. The story is interesting and gameplay is decent, but the best part is the continued developer support. There were some bugs going through, but the developer has repeatedly updated and even reached out to folks to test and correct saves to let them know.
