Pixel Art Academy: Learn Mode

Beautifully designed education game, at times I have to remind myself I'm here to learn and not just blindly treat it like a fill in the dots type easy art software. Actually read what its teaching you lol. Very helpful for me, I'm a noob artist in general and this is a way to get me excited to improve my skills. Great game!

i am low vision and have dreams of creating a pixel art game, i am hoping that after giving up for years, i will finally be able to have the courage. this has kept me learning every single day. i am so thankful for it. books, and just opening aseprite weren't enough to get me through that initial interest, but this is doing a lot for me right now.

I'm amazed at the breadth and depth of content already available in this interactive game, completing everything would easily take me triple the amount of time. If you have an interest in pixel art or art in general and want to learn or develop your skills further, this is by far the most interesting way to learn it. By far the best value for money you can get from an interactive tutorial and I can't wait to see how the creator develops it further.

I haven't used this software for months. Today, when I reopened it, the designer had added a new feature（study plan）, but then my saves were all gone, forcing me to start over. I have no idea what the designer was thinking.

This is great. I have purchased many online courses for other topics, and this is one of the best I have done. For the price, it's a steal.

this is a lot of fun and nostalgic, it reminds me of the early 2000's Paint program, not only that but the way they've made the learning was a good choise... i'm learning a lot more than i thought i would and they make it so fun.

Been following this artist for many years now, even before this game was publicly announced. In fact, I started out just admiring and studying his work. I still remember how excited I was when he first announced this game. Now I've finally gotten a chance to play it and it has exceeded my expectations by a long shot (and they were high!). The attention to detail in this game is mind-boggling and a testament to the creator's skill and love of the medium. The soundtrack is great too, really sets the mood and gives it soul. This is not a color-by-number pixel art clicker, it is a masterclass in pixel art instruction, tooling, and theory- taught by a true expert. I was not compensated for this review in any way nor have I ever spoken directly to Matej, but I felt compelled to write this after finally getting the chance to play Pixel Art Academy because, it's just that good. Do yourself a favor and check it out today, pushing pixels has never felt better.
