Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.29/day in the week to Aug 29 → 7.57/day in the week after.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.5/day in the week to Jul 19 → 7.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Welcome to Phonopolis.
A new puzzle adventure hand-crafted by Amanita Design, the studio behind Machinarium, Creaks, Samorost and more.
In the dystopian city of Phonopolis, life is orchestrated by omnipresent loudspeakers that dictate every aspect of people’s existence. Citizens, bound by the authoritarian Leader's commands, work in unison to achieve his grand vision. Soon, the Absolute Tone—a tone so strong that it would strip every citizen of their humanity forever—will be heard…
By coincidence or perhaps by fate, young dustman Felix becomes the only per son to consciously recognize the threat. Now, he must try to stop the Leader from indefinitely making every citizen a mindless servant. Loosely inspired by the works of Karel Čapek and George Orwell, the story of Phonopolis explores themes of social manipulation and individualism, but keeps the overall experience playful and light-hearted.
With Felix becoming immune to the commands, you’ll be able to take advantage of the loudspeakers and use them to solve puzzles involving other characters. Other times, you will interact with the cardboard environment in surprising, often unexpected ways—turn walls, shuffle floors, control various machinery or tear paper curtains. Each puzzle is carefully integrated into the world and presents a different challenge.
Metaphorically referring to the utopian, totalitarian model of society, Phonopolis is a city built of actual cardboard. Capturing the nostalgic charm of classic stop-motion films, every piece of any building, every character, and every frame of any smoke or flame is hand-painted on a piece of paper, then digitized for use in the game’s 3D world.
The art style is strongly influenced by avant-garde artistic trends of the interwar period such as constructivism, futurism, and suprematism, and their societal impact as a tool of propaganda. The distinct visuals come to life with music from Tomáš Dvořák aka Floex, composer of soundtracks for Machinarium and Samorost 3.

Amanita Design przeszło somo siebie a stworzyło sporo świetnych gier. Ta jest absolutnym arcydziełem.

A new Interesting game. Very short, but I enjoyed it. Highly recommend to buy it !
Amazing art and story! the Puzzles were definitly challenging at times which made solving them even more satisfying! I definitly want to check out more games of this company because this was amazing!!!!
Banger!
Beautifuly animated, beautifuly composed, full of soul, charachter and love. Another gem from Amanita <3
A delight to the senses. Also: short and simple. The presentation is stunning. The art style is distinct and very evocative. The soundtrack, by Floex, is predictably gorgeous. But the real star is the animation, highly kinetic but also meticulously coherent, such that the game world feels alive and interconnected. This mechanical interrelation is the basis for the puzzles, too. Rather than presenting you with problems to solve you are given mechanical contraptions. Press everything, pull everything, turn everything, and figure out for yourself what is possible and what needs to be fixed... or broken. It's all very tactile and is probably best experienced with a touch interface, though it supports controllers and mouse just fine. It's a good gameplay premise, but unfortunately not all the puzzles are equally satisfying. Sometimes it's fun to tinker and delightful to discover weird combinations. But sometimes the lack of affordances feels rather obtuse. There were a few puzzles that I solved just by trial and error, which was a let down. I moved on with the game without really understanding the challenge I had just overcome. The story is poignant and cute, but the storytelling is a bit thin. I would have loved to get more background about the characters and the world, but it's just too short and underdeveloped in this respect. The voice narration is fine, but feels like an unnecessary crutch. Most Amanita games do a great job with environmental storytelling. It's too bad the devs didn't feel confident enough to do the same with Phonopolis. They definitely have the ability! All in all, a lovely and memorable experience, whether you are new to Amanita or a long-time fan.
