Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.29/day in the week to Aug 29 → 7.57/day in the week after.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.5/day in the week to Jul 19 → 7.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Welcome to Phonopolis.
A new puzzle adventure hand-crafted by Amanita Design, the studio behind Machinarium, Creaks, Samorost and more.
In the dystopian city of Phonopolis, life is orchestrated by omnipresent loudspeakers that dictate every aspect of people’s existence. Citizens, bound by the authoritarian Leader's commands, work in unison to achieve his grand vision. Soon, the Absolute Tone—a tone so strong that it would strip every citizen of their humanity forever—will be heard…
By coincidence or perhaps by fate, young dustman Felix becomes the only per son to consciously recognize the threat. Now, he must try to stop the Leader from indefinitely making every citizen a mindless servant. Loosely inspired by the works of Karel Čapek and George Orwell, the story of Phonopolis explores themes of social manipulation and individualism, but keeps the overall experience playful and light-hearted.
With Felix becoming immune to the commands, you’ll be able to take advantage of the loudspeakers and use them to solve puzzles involving other characters. Other times, you will interact with the cardboard environment in surprising, often unexpected ways—turn walls, shuffle floors, control various machinery or tear paper curtains. Each puzzle is carefully integrated into the world and presents a different challenge.
Metaphorically referring to the utopian, totalitarian model of society, Phonopolis is a city built of actual cardboard. Capturing the nostalgic charm of classic stop-motion films, every piece of any building, every character, and every frame of any smoke or flame is hand-painted on a piece of paper, then digitized for use in the game’s 3D world.
The art style is strongly influenced by avant-garde artistic trends of the interwar period such as constructivism, futurism, and suprematism, and their societal impact as a tool of propaganda. The distinct visuals come to life with music from Tomáš Dvořák aka Floex, composer of soundtracks for Machinarium and Samorost 3.

Been playing Amanita Design games since they released Machinarium. Every game is just gorgeous and addictive to play! Incredible art style, magical soundtrack and amazing storytelling! Phonopolis is no different! The only thing I wish was that the game was longer!
I'll be replaying this masterpeace many times! Both the audiotrack on spotify and the 'making of' video on youtube are worth your while too.

Amazingly creative game, super cool art, great world they built and all out of cardboard no less! I really loved the sounds, music, and creativity in all parts of this game. After playing machinarium first this is a huge step up and really amazing how seamless all the animation and parts of this game are, super duper polished and feels like an art piece more than a game, amazing how they made the graphics look the way they do. I liked the small details and personality they put into the world, like in such a small city they packed in so much in the characters and design of each aspect the people in the world around you interact with. I do wish they went a bit more into how the loudspeakers came to be or how they affect people, but you know this isn't little nightmares or whatever. Very fun and creative puzzles, they naturally fit into the world and were really fun to figure out, I never felt super frustrated I was usually just not being creative enough or piecing things in an out-of-the-box way, even if I was stuck it was pleasant to hear and see the game's graphics and music. I hope they keep making stuff like this. Really cool to experience, I looked forward to returning to the world and playing every time I left the game.
Good.
To be honest, in the first half I found the puzzles somewhat tedious. Sometimes it felt like I was just bruteforcing them, and solutions didn't seem all that logical. I wasn't going to give it a thumbs down anyway, if only because of how unique the game is, and how much love and effort clearly went into it. But then in the last quarter of the game something clicked and I loved every remaining minute of it, credits rolled all too soon. The ending was amazing, so very true. I do recommend this game!
