i've recently become infatuated with short horror VNs and this one hit the spot. i love the presentation of this game and all of its unsettling yet kind of relaxing vibes. the narrative and atmosphere reflecting the growing desperation as the player tries to go in different directions to avoid ending up in the same place. and yet it ropes me in, because they knows i can't resist getting toys from the vending machine. it's so real.
Pet is a wonderfully written existential horror with beautiful art, sound design that straddles the line between chill and chilling perfectly, and a story that can absolutely rip your heart out under the right circumstances. I streamed a playthrough achieving all the endings and my community and I adored it. As one of my viewers put it: Pet is "not the cheapest game that's made me cry myself to sleep, but it's certainly the best written". It really is a delight to play, even when it's destroying you emotionally. A really beautiful and thought provoking piece of art that gets to the heart of one of the biggest anxieties of caring for a pet, but in a new and unexpected way.

First off: Text-to-speech and dyslexic-friendly font are available by pressing 'A' on the menu, and you can skip text by holding 'ctrl.' As for the game itself: It's short and sweet, if by sweet you mean existentially crushing. However, it does a good job at balancing out the depressing/horrifying stuff with endearing moments and details, and the descriptions for the different areas (despite their shortness) give the impression that these are places with real memories and emotions attached to them. I also *really* appreciate the 4th ending. It made me more sad than anything, so now I'm gonna go hug my pets.
Full Disclosure I received this for free and the Dev is one of my friends!!! I love this game in every way! It short and sweet but it made me cry and feel things! If you love a good Visual Novel this one is for you! The love this Dev put in to this with the multiple endings and secret stuff fills me with joy! I can't explain how happy I was see this on steam! If you need any other reason! ITS GOT CATS! WORDS! LOVE! AND JUST HORROR AS WELL! It's got all of the things in one!
Become the pet :)
Incredibly short. I got all the achievements, but it was just too short. Basically when you get an ending, it saves that ending for a true different ending when you play again from the start. I liked it sort of? But I don't really know if I recommend it tho. The "working vending machine" in the description of the features is what got me, but alas, after you empty the vending machine there are no other goodies. I liked the concept of an eldritch horror wanting to take me in as a pet (me as in the playable character), but I feel as though not enough was done with the story.
A cute game about looking after your pet, and becoming a pet all in one!
Cool little game where the world changes a bit with each ending. Short enough to not feel repetitive.
It made me feel sad and weird I liked it
For the price, it's an ok little horror visual novel. It's pretty simple overall, but I enjoyed my time with it and it doesn't take too much time. Honestly, I don't have a lot to say about this one. But I enjoyed it well enough so I'll leave a positive review.
