Gotta admit, I went into this experience not expecting much - no slight to the game, but most horror visual novel games under £5 on steam aren't great, so my expectations were low off the bat. And I was so pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is great, the devs use of the UI and the tools and even the art itself to really highlight certain moments and aspects in a way that kind of broke the 4th wall were excellent. The backgrounds, the distortion and the aberations were never over the top, either. This was not another cringey "an 18 y/o emo made this" thing filled with over-saturation and creepy pasta vibes - and it was so refreshing that it wasn't. The text was a little hard to read at times, so an accessibility option in future games would be a nice option, but it fit the vibe of the game, so I can't knock it too hard. EDIT: Dev has been brilliant and responsive in every aspect of my interaction with this game - including informing me there's an accessibility option within the engine itself. Just press A. That's really neat! The subject matter can be pretty heavy, and it made me want to go cuddle my own cats for a little while, but I appreciate the fact it managed to provoke those kinds of emotions in me despite it's relatively short length. And appreciated the length in its own way because it didn't overstay its welcome. I completed everything, flailing around as I did it, in just under 2 hours. When this comes off sale, that's about £2 an hour. I personally am very satisfied and happy with that, and if you ever see this for £2~, I do very much recommend the experience. Just make sure you play it in a good mind-frame and pay attention to the content warnings. At any rate, I enjoyed my time with this game and I'm excited to follow their future work.

This was a fun little visual novel. The endings were neat and different and all of them were pretty easy to find. Easy recommendation for someone who might want to get into visual novel style games.
As someone that tested this game, purchased it when it came out on itch, tested it again and ready to purchase it once again I recommend this game tremendously. It is a well written experience with a clever story that pulls in the player from the off. If you are hesitating about purchasing it, just do it, you won't regret it.
Full disclosure, this project was created by a friend. Without taking that into mind though, this stands as an impressive and short Visual Novel experience. It says what it wants to say and it says it quickly, no part of this game wastes the player's time, and there's still plenty to find for those that want to explore and look for additional things to do or see. I ended up obtaining all achievements in just over an hour, and came away thinking about things which I'm fairly sure is the intent of the game. Definitely check this out if you're looking for something bite sized, it's the price of a coffee and will give you food for thought for quite a bit longer than the mild buzz of aforementioned coffee.
I'm not all that well versed (or really interested) in visual novels, but I really enjoyed myself while playing this game. It's a bite sized little story that doesn't overstay its welcome with 4 different endings to discover. I was able to get all endings and achievements in a little under an hour. For about the price of a cup of coffee, I'd say Pet's well worth a look from anyone looking for a little slice of horror.
This game is incredible. I was not expecting to be drawn in so far psychologically and so quickly. From the story to the visuals, everything works together beautifully. I'm still playing through the endings but this game is definitely worth a try!
*Disclaimer: I am a friend of the developer and received this game for free.* Even if I wasn't, though, I'd still 110% recommend this fantastic game, especially if you're a fan of adorable cats and existential dread. Amazing atmosphere, wonderful background art, glorious collectibles, AND I get to wear a skirt? What's not to love?
Will go ahead and note that the developer is a friend! That said, I went into the game without really knowing anything about it, and did not get the game for free. Pet is a really good visual novel game. It somehow has a very peaceful and also very unsettling art style. The writing is good, the story is good, and it's a game you can easily get all of the endings for in about 30 minutes to an hour depending on if you reread everything or not. Good game. Do recommend.
What a delightful little game. I liked the vibe from the trailer and screenshots anyway, but it was still much better than I was expecting. The art really fits the story well, especially in grayscale. The story is well written and always proceeds smoothly. I'm a sucker for psychological horror, for sure, but the game is very creative and well put together. It's very short. As in, "I got all endings and achievements in less than an hour"-level short. But that was a very enjoyable 50 or so minutes. I'll definitely be checking out the dev's other games.
I had fun playing this! The combination of artwork and writing help to paint a vivid picture in your head of what's going on, and there's some cool animations and other special effects at other points as well. Short, enjoyable, and memorable, I recommend checking out this game and look forward to additional games the creator makes in the future.
