war crimes with elmo in the style of ksp, great game
moon war now
Yeah, I dig it. Art, music and sound is cool. Combat is fun and interesting. Really like the reactor/heat management mechanic. Definately early access, but very playable, and haven’t had a crash or game ending bug yet. I’ve really enjoyed my time with it so far. Looking forward to what is yet to come.
If you think lasers, railguns, and nukes in space are cool, then this game if for you. Periapsis: Eclipse is an immersive semi realistic space combat rouge-like. What makes this game special is how it takes concepts that we think may be important for realistic space combat and uses them as gameplay mechanics. Some examples include how gravity affects your warships maneuvers, heat management, and stealth. The weapons you use to wage interstellar war feel powerful. Railguns feel punchy, and the nukes are a favorite of mine. You will understand why I love the nukes if you play the game. All of these systems need to be balanced properly in order to properly execute your destructive interplanetary dance of interstellar conquest. While I personally really like the game, I can see people being turned off by it. Getting used to the maneuvering controls takes some time. Periapsis: Eclipse has a steep learning curve to it, but after a few runs you learn and unlick better ships so victory is inevitable. Even in early access, this game is very playable and I only ran into a few bugs on my playthroughs. Periapsis: Eclipse has great potential, and I hope it keeps building on what makes it great now.
If you like rings of saturn and the physics-based movement, you'll like this. I like the diegetic feel of managing the ship systems. It makes it feel like you're really managing the controls of the engine and weapons systems. My only gripe (and it's understandable in EA) the system panels are SO big they get in the way of how you're moving the camera and mouse cursor around the screen or keep them tucked away. I should be able to toggle them without mousing over them and they popping up and disrupting things. Part of me feels like this would be a great co-op game if you could somehow split up the system controls for each player. there's def some work to be done, but it could be pretty fun.
The creator did not disclose that the development is on pause. Looks like this is abandonware. Very disappointing as the game had a lot of potential. Don't bother buying it unless the developer returns to it at some point in the future.
DIFFICULT AF, some ui sizing issued/ ui elements not matching the style. easily can break the game if you click to fast through menus. BUT im having fun soooooooo
it needs some TLC but from what is already there and if a critical bug doesnt break the game this is about the most fun ive had in a space combat game so far
Dev is stepping back from developing this game for now, but who knows how long that could be? I can't in good conscience recommend you buy and play it. It's still quite unfinished and has significant bugs.
♥♥♥♥ game, Way too easy to softlock yourself in the campagn
