I've played this game for a good whilst now acquiring over 1000 hours and numerous relatively high positions on the speedrun leaderboard and I can safely say this game is very, very much so worth the pickup. The Peaks have a lovely visual style and are quite well designed, the movement however is what really sells this game for me and alot of others, the sheer amount of tech involved with both pocketwatch% and pipe only runs is stunning and the skill celling is almost as much a peak waiting to be summited as the game itself. I will admit the game has it's small issues in places such as with performance and overall jank for how the arms work sometimes but for a solo dev it's a damn good game that I truly wish gets the attention it deserves. (The only actual negative thing I can truly say about the game is that the peak editor REALLY needs to be touched up a bit, it's quite buggy and awkward to work with.)
a very fulfilling and fun game that i have sunk many hours into if you like climbing or movement based games this is a game for you
This game feels like Getting over it but instead of breaking your shins and laughing at you for not being able to walk, it trips you over yet lends a hand to help you get back up Its just as the game says, "The climb shows your true character, but the peak frees your soul!" (None of this applies to the Solemn Tempest. I know I'll like it once I finish it but rn I wanna die.) Anyway this game is good
To climb you must hold To hold you must grab To grab you must rope To rope you must cope
This game makes me want to kill birds in real life.
its a climbing game where every failure feels like your fault and not bs mechanics and the dopamine rush for completing a hard mountain is amazing
it's so gud. controls are awesome , mechanics presented very beautifully with no hand holding , the player gets a sense of achievement even when they fall , since you can improve REALLY fast, the rope mechanics is both forgiving and mentally challenging. Cheerios , Blimey, What a pickle , that was diabolical , gavna.
