Played on a Steamdeck @MatureContent
This game is perfect for like a 5 year old, but any older than that and it would get too easy. I'm too old to really know what this show is about, but I do know it is very popular with small children and since I have now played quite a few of these titles, why not try out Paw Patrol. This is a very simple platformer. You run through a bunch of levels which are all so simple that if they were any simpler it would all just be one long flat surface. You play as these dogs, which I assume are the Paw Patrol, and your goal is to get to the other end of the level, straight forward. On the way you can collect dog treats and golden paw prints and if you happen to get everything in a level, you will unlock special awards after completing it. Every level also has a set of different special obstacles, which is anything from a broken bridge to a big gap in the level that the dogs will have to clear. You can counter these obstacles by using one of the dogs unique special abilities. This is all very easy to figure out in game, as there is a narrator constantly telling you what button to press. I didn't finish this game and there is no way I was gonna finish it, it is just way too boring and that narrator kid backseating you throughout every level was really starting to piss me off. That said, I do think a 5 year old would enjoy this game, since you are constantly being walked through everything and every part of every level is very intuitive. That said, the 30 euro they ask in my region is steep and I don’t think it is really worth that much. Luckily it often drops down 75% during sale. ————————————————————————————— Help me out by following my Curator, I’d really appreciate it!!
Paw Patrol: On A Roll! is ok for what it is for the shows fans i gues its serviceable but other than that its only a simplistic 2D platformer with collectiables to collect each mission: + Paws dont a voice and it feels lifeless a bit because of it + level design is alright + controls are great and graphics ok + animations are good + it have the Paw Patrol feeling + music is ok + 16 missions Cons: - barely a story - annyoing repeating dialoge during gameplay - sure the game is for kids but even kids can handle better things - the game just feels a bit streched during the missions and get a bit boring specially if you miss one or two dog bone collectiables (every mission goes for 15 mins) - sure the different abilities are neat but some of them are pretty slow and you dont have to do anything (Kids can handle better) Game is fine sure nothing much to say here its ok at best but not the worst thing, there are no bugs its just a super simplistic 2D platformer. If your kid dont care about Paw Patrol and seach for a game then the two My Little Pony, Adventure Time, Matchbox, Transformers games, Teenage Mutants Ninja Turtles Unlreashed or Patrick Star game for example, are a better choice.
My toddler can play it, 3/3 game
Laziest game I have ever played in my entire life. Children deserve better games than this. If you're looking for something for your child please buy them anything else.
My 4 year old kids like it and it helps him develop skills with the game controller and some thinking, so recommended for kids learning videogames!
My 4 years old loves it and is able to play without my constant help, this game is perfectly balanced for little kids!
PROSZĘ TO ODISTALOWAĆ
Takes a few hours to beat, but the game is overall very easy. There is only two hard parts: Zuma and the swimming areas and Skye and the flying areas. Both times the controls are loose and you can easily miss a pup treat. If you manage to handle the swimming and flying parts well, then every achievements is a piece of cake to get.
Fun and easy game for small kids. Especially if they love Paw Patrol. Good as a first introduction to gaming. My kids have been playing it on other platforms as well, which have Dutch audio. At first I thought this steam version had no Dutch audio, which makes it a bit less immersive for the little ones. But apparently you can change this using the steps in this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3627584732
