Shangchuan, 1939, Japanese-occupied. By day a bowing traitor, by night a ghost, in Demon's Lair, No. 86. All wear masks: pretend, kill, survive. When sacrificing a friend is the only way, when betrayed, when only isolated cities remain - fight to the end, live a coward, or take an unimagined path?

About
This is a story about an ordinary person who changed the world… Whenever the Chinese nation faces a crisis, there are always many ordinary yet great people who strive, bleed, and sacrifice to save their homeland. In the dark years of the War of Resistance, many brave souls infiltrated the heart of the enemy, transmitted intelligence, and killed Japanese and traitorous puppet forces. Most of them never lived to see the long night turn to dawn.
This time, you will become one of them. You will struggle through the long darkness and complete your mission in the narrowest of gaps. When you survive the inferno by sheer luck, when the intelligence you send out changes the world, when you rain hellfire upon the Japanese islands – your true mission will have only just begun.

Most of your classmates went to the battlefield, while you alone went undercover in the den of No. 86.
By day, you are a traitor, a lowly office worker squeezed by your superiors. By night, you are a ghost hidden in the glitzy darkness.

The Japanese invaders’ blades glint with cold steel; the traitors’ greed seeps into the bone; your superior’s betrayal strikes without warning; the underground resistance shines like a faint light in the dark… Every face wears a mask. Even the tenderest embrace can become a hero’s grave.

Your choices determine not only your own fate but also the fates of others.
- When everyone wears a mask, who will you stand with?
- When the Japanese order you to execute your own comrade, will you wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat?
- When the werewolf‑kill game begins, will you sacrifice yourself or offer up an ally?
- And finally, when you become the sword‑bearer, will you hesitate to give Tokyo a “little boy” hug?

600 minutes of cinematic, dynamic visuals that bring to life the absurd and dark “Shangchuan” – an isolated island.
Break free from linear storytelling. Slack off at work during the day, explore freely at night. Different stories unfold in every place, every day. Your absence will even generate new stories.
To be a spy, you have to know a little bit of everything. You’ll pick locks, handle microfilm, hold your breath against a lie detector, play the butterfly knife, pour latte art – and it’s best if you’re also a high‑roller at the casino.
Every daily choice reshapes the future. Even a trivial encounter at the park at night might have a decisive impact years later. Over 30 characters, 256 decision points, 609 branching plots, and as many as 16 completely different final endings.
In the process of creation, we consulted a vast amount of historical material. Many of the story’s dates, places, characters, and events have historical prototypes. Yet even so, we know that we cannot convey complete truth through a game – because the truth is often too cruel.
Researching history is also a process of awakening forgotten souls. More than ninety years have passed. Most of the elderly who lived through that era have since passed away. Our neighbors across the sea have never truly repented. To some of them, this is all last century’s business – even if they never admit to the Nanjing Massacre, it’s time to move on.
But we have no right to move on. If we forget those ordinary people – who, in the darkest of times, suffered unspeakable horrors so that we could live decently today, and who left behind not even a tombstone – then when a new crisis comes tomorrow, there will be no one to serve as the backbone of the Chinese nation.
That is why we decided to tell this story: in the darkest years, an ordinary patriot goes undercover in the heart of the enemy. He experiences fear, temptation, pain, and betrayal. He finds his direction through confusion, and passes on the torch while the long night still endures.
If you, right now, are still willing to embrace the “imperfections” in our content and storytelling… if you are willing to travel across time to feel the fear and courage of those ordinary people who kept moving forward…
Then please, push open this door. Outside the door, time flows on – but a single voice rings out, deafening.
