This is a game that I would classify as a cozy game. Its pretty short but I thought it was full of interesting characters all with their own little scenarios to solve. I thought the animations and sprite work was really good and diverse. I didn't expect the ending nor the circumstances that led to it but I thought it was a good change of pace and I liked the wackiness and the message at the end even if it was sudden. The only thing i would add to this game is maybe minigames to make the game a little longer and making it more rewarding to solve puzzles if there is some slight mechanical challenge to it behind it.
I liked it a lot~! I enjoyed my time with this one and it ended up being something bigger than I expected, please try it out~!

This game is an utter labor of love, both for the season and for people at its heart. Gameplay-wise, it's very simple. Classic favor-chaining, explore an area, meet someone, find out what they need, find the necessary item tucked away somewhere or by helping someone else with their issue. Classic style and nothing really tricky to it; just scour every room of the property and find what you need to get the party started. But it doesn't really... *need* to be more complicated than that. You agree to what kind of simple and pleasant adventure gaming you're doing when you look at the game, and it's the excuse to talk to people and visit every room. Visiting every room is a delight, of course, because the visuals are incredibly charming. It's fluidly animated pixel art, not trying to emulate any particular console or overbearing faux-retro style, but content to look more like a very polished Cartoon Network flash game. One of your tasks is to hunt down decorations, and as you do, they get added to the environment, fully aiding the environment's continual increase in pleasant spooky aesthetics. Spooky being a very deliberate choice of term. The core of the game comes down to its writing, and here, sincerity shines through. There are a lot of guests to help around Death's mansion, and as the game and trailer distinctly point out, almost everyone's being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in one way or another. Otherwise the very charming protagonist, Blacky, wouldn't need to do all this. I'd say that the quantity of people in need of help dilutes how much time you can spend working with any particular one of them. As such a number of characters feel like they don't get the time they'd appreciate, and a small number of characters who are very much intended to *just* be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (rather than people you have an emotional connection with who are being a bit rude for specific reasons) get more time taking them down than might be necessary. Also, less items in the environment have flavor text than you might expect: it's mostly contained to a few patches stuffed with item descriptions. However, everything perfectly conveys that the creator had a lot of *fun* writing this, putting themselves out there for comedy beats, opinions, and above all, a real sense of caring. I can easily believe that these characters have more exploration and stronger dynamics elsewhere because vaaasm shows genuine love for them, and largely through them an empathy towards people. A lot of this especially shows itself in the final act, which while maybe not completely earned, is very heartwarming in the passion and good intent surging through it. I'm very happy to have bought and played this game, because it's a very pleasant experience and speaks to some of the reasons behind my own passion for the Halloween season. But also because it means I get to support the artist who made it, and I feel like they really deserve that support and attention. Three cheers of particularly boozy punch to Hallow Grove.
this is a fun, adorable adventure game with a biting sense of humor! the characters are memorable and lovable, and you can tell the creator spent a lot of time on the details. the humor is the main draw of the game but it also has very heartfelt moments and mature ideas that will make it stick with you. i had a great time playing this and can't wait to see what the developer does next!
A phenomenal, heartfelt, silly game. I finished it in about 3 hours, and while it started as a chore-based game, the last third and the ending are anything but. The message was unexpectedly wholesome and this game was a joy to play; I cackled aloud several times because the chaos and the dialogue were so good. 10/10 would recommend! Btw, this worked with my Xbox controller.

This game is an instant halloween classic for me. The pixel art is cute. The characters are fun and interesting. the gameplay is simple but keeps you constantly moving (basically a series of fetch quests but not in an annoying way). I also got pretty emotional at the end. I also enjoyed the lighthearted adult humor. It's crass but not too gross for the sake of being gross or childish. It strikes the perfect balance for me personally. Anyways, 10/10 would recommend.
I loved this game!! it's so cute and charming - I played the demo and immediately fell in love with it and ran to play the full game! The humor made me crack up and the game flows in a way where you aren't left unchallenged but you aren't scrambling for answers for hours either. I finished it in around 4 hours! I thought Snuffy was so funny and I love how expressive all the characters are! I would love to see more work from this dev!
I've recently had the pleasure to play this game and it blew me away. From the detail, movement, and story to the hilarious moments, this game is worth every penny. Lucky for me, I was given a copy for completely free and i'm grateful to be able to play this amazing Halloween experience & share it with others!
Loved this game! It is bursting with charm and filled with a bunch of memorable moments and characters. The pixel art is clean, the UI flows are really well done, and the music is a bop Short and sweet (though longer than I expected!) 10/10, do recommend, would play again
