Playing this has given me a fresh perspective on the subatomic world. In addition, it's easier (for me at least) to understand our current model of particle physics, as I can actually see what's happening rather than have to read about it and picture it. As for gameplay, it's rather enjoyable with only a few minor bugs (mostly UI related, occasionally particles will pass through things they shouldn't-Quantum tunneling, perhaps? I kid, I kid). However, the later levels can be difficult. (Whether this is due to gameplay or the universe's physical properties, I'll let anyone reading this take their pick. Admittedly our model still has holes that need filled, and as for quantum mechanics... yeah...) Overall, I'd definitely recommend this, especially if particle physics is your thing or you're simply curious.
Cool game ! simple in apparence and in rules. but actually quite complex in depth. you can skip frustrating level. the story is harder to follow than it should be.
I didn't care much about the story in this game, but the gameplay alone is a main reason why it's worth to play Particulars. It's just something different from regular puzzle/physics games, at least I think so. Every level require from you something different: sometimes there is more action, sometimes more thinking. There is a demo version of this game available on Steam, so be sure to try it out before buying - that's the best "review" you can get and you will experience this game yourself.

not really great, boring actually but now it's free, u can learn things about particles...good luck finishing all the sylabuses!!
Looking at the playtimes of other reviews, it's obvious that there is no way this gameplay could support the kind of ~9 hour playtimes I am seeing on most of the reviews. I got tired of it in less than an hour. Especially since I hit a mission that was unsolvable due to a particle that needed to be exploded wandering off and evaporating. The games solution to these kind of problems is a "skip mission" button, which is good I guess? I played it a bit more, and it does get more interesting, but the interface is not great for conveying the evolution of the particles and such, plus I'm just kind of dumb, so it's hard for me to figure out what to do. Oftentimes a mission just randomly finishes and I'm not sure what I did to meet the requirements.
Good game. Does resemble spore a bit in that it sacrifices a bit of realism for playability. Gravity is way too strong, and the strong force is far too weak. Photons do not appear, though this is understandable since inherent randomness would be unplayable. It's easy to understand. Also, forces are completely disregarded in examination mode, which lets you completely cheat in certain levels. Black holes aren't dynamic.
Amazing game for a small indie team. The plot is crazy and a little bit depressing considering its a small puzzle game about throwing around particles but that definitely adds to the experience! The story and even the slightly educational side to things makes it an awesome game to jump into. Cons: -Quite a short game, i wish there was more randomly generated levels and challenges perhaps - Some form of multiplayer would be really crazy in this game, building up particles to destroy opponents would be awesome
