About
Build explosive attacks from a deck of evolving cards in this roguelike shooter about paint, chaos, and scaling destruction.
In Palette: Cards & Chaos, you play as a water spirit with a giant paintbrush, fighting through a shifting labyrinth full of danger. This top-down shooter blends fast-paced combat with a unique deckbuilding system: collect cards that represent brushstrokes and colors, then stack them to create powerful and unpredictable paintings of destruction.
Each run is a chance to build something new. Will you decimate enemies with swift brushstrokes, or launch a storm of paint projectiles? The choices are endless.
Deckbuilding Meets Action
Build your attacks by combining cards during each run. Find creative combos that change how you fight.
Procedurally Generated Dungeons

Paint-Based Abilities
Use your brush to attack, block, and change the battlefield. Your abilities are as creative as you make them.

Solid game for the price, 100%'ed in 1.5 hours but in the next update I hope they let me merge 2 level 8 buffs haha
nice combat
This game is absolutely silly fun, although a bit short. Is it a hard game? I wouldn't call it that, it is quite easy to get to the point where you one-shot everything (including bosses) when you stack damage cards with repeat cards. Though I hardly see this as a downside, this power-trip is absolutely fun to see and seeing huge numbers destroy enemies in one hit hits the good part of the brain. The only thing I'd want to see added is more diverse themes for the Labyrinth instead of mostly colour swaps each floor, otherwise it's a fun "See what crazy combo you can create" kind of game and go to town on the helpless mobs as you hit them for over a million damage with a wack of the brush
I love the game so far, I've been watching Steven a bit less than 5 years now and when I saw that one of his games were going to be released I couldn't wait. I can't wait for more content for the future.
Extremely fun game based on multiplying multipliers to cause, well, chaos. Paint color corresponds to not just your cards but the quantities they're in, too. Even if it isnt long, its worth picking up and running every now and then in my opinion.
Very fun, managed to break the game and get like 340 million damage I really want to see this game get more content because I see a lot of potential here
Small but amazing game, really fun to play! The game design was smart, things feel fair and naturally balanced even though you can get very op.
Very cute and fun game, and also dirt cheap. It's really fun to try out different builds, stack modifiers, and see the absurd results. The enemy density can get ridiculous, but so can your combos, so it balances out (can't say the same about endless mode though), although it can take a toll on performance. While it's true that there isn't that much content in the game, it's still very fun, and there are many possible builds and combos to try; There is also an endless mode so you can really try out anything there, although the enemy health scaling gets truly absurd. I hope future updates expand on the game, because it's a very solid foundation with a lot of potential. So yeah, it's a great and cheap game. If it seems interesting to you, then I don't see a reason not to try it.
I think that this game has huge potential, it has a solid foundation and a good mechanic of combining the buffs and upgrades, but some things should be changed: -The balance of the game is a bit off, some cards are just pure utility and not useful at all, while others just break the game, the damage and multishot outshine everything in the game, and even those are replaced when you get the repeat cards. Just stacking those and a damage upgrade gets your shots to do millions way before the enemies can scale to you. The attacks of the game seem good but the melee's should do WAY more, you might have to double all of their damage values just to compete with the ranged attacks -Enemy variety is a bit lacking, you have your ranged guys who are tall and lanky and your melee guys who are big and bulky/small and fast, but only 2 bosses is a bit disappointing -Enviroments are a bit bare, only having enemies in a room is kind of lame, I think the stages should have more theme-ing or have more of a foreboding sense as you go further It might sound like a lot of complains but I really do feel like the dev's will be able to improve on the game a lot, and I do have hopes that it reaches way more people
A nice small fun gun with wacky broken cards that are way too op, as fun as they are maybe consider nerfing some of them. Though they were much more broken in beta
