good game
fun lil game! cheap and satisfying
This is a cool little game. It seems fairly new and not especially long or complex, but it's still and enjoyable game. The graphic are extremely minimal, but whether these are meant to stay that way or will be slightly altered later, they get the job done. Some things in the game like the top bar of packs being scrollable despite there not being enough to require it for all to be fully visible makes me think there could be an expansion in the future, but that's just speculation. The mining section is fairly shallow, both figuratively and literally. Still, it's a neat concept to have an extra way to earn standard resources as well as earn special ones like passives and gems. I like how the mining area just uses the already underutilized blue diamond shaped thingies rather than making up a new mining currency. The main pack opening area has some neat upgrades like the priests which alter the RNG of packs in your favor over time. When I first got one I assumed it only improved individual packs, but it actually gives a permanent boost until it reaches a cap for whichever pack it is. The actual clicking shop section isn't anything special, but that's to be expected as there isn't much else you can do in terms of just making clicking faster. The packs give you some money along with shards for new weapons. Every weapon requires five shards so this doesn't do that much in practice except make getting the rarer weapons take a bit longer. This is mostly important for evolving your weapons which requires duplicate weapons and blue diamond shaped thingies. Evolving is just a simple stat boost until they reach max evolve. It can be fun to use the op weapons, but there isn't much in terms of variety. Speaking of which... There are several tiers of weapon rarity. Passives and gems have rarity too, but they're usually less significant as a max efficiency miner gets the same amount of each rarity each digging round. Some tiers, especially early ones, contain some more unique weapons or weapons that have pros and cons over other weapons seen before it. By later on, though, the rarity tiers are just direct stat upgrades from tiers before them. This, combined with evolutions being just general stat increases makes all the tiers blur together as none of them have anything to stand out. Some more interesting weapons as you progress are ones like the lasers. Early tiers introduce separate cardinal and diagonal lasers. Then you find a weapon that is both of these combined. A later ones makes them start spinning. The tiers after that are just stat increases, but the concept of how they were being improved is cool. Another thing I find odd is that the uncommon tier features a slowing field and a damaging field. Every other tier just gives a damaging plus slowing field if any, but having a weapon that is purely for stalling is interesting and it would be cool if there was more of it. Also, the uncommon slowing field has more slowing than the combined field of the final tier which is odd. The slowing never gets improved, only the damage and radius does. This has been a tangent, but the point is just that the weapons aren't all that interesting in their tier progression for the most part and I think more could be done with it instead of just stat increased duplicates seeing as evolving is already just a stat increase. The actual waves you fight in the game aren't too interesting. It's mostly just fun seeing a bunch of over powered projectiles obliterate everything. All the enemies are just red squares. This is fine, but it does make them all unmemorable. There are different enemy types to a small degree, shown through their colored border. The only notable one is the blue ones who shoot you. They don't shoot from afar, it just means they can hit you without having to get as close. Besides that, their pretty much just literally blocks that get increased stats as you go on. One thing I do like is that the camera zooms out more as the game progresses. Your base takes up less and less space in the screen which is an easy way to show how the scale has increased. It's simple but effective and I like it. It also makes it funny when you revisit early waves with late game weapons and a single projectile takes up the whole screen. In terms of story, there's some guy who just gives some simple instructions at points and calls you Hero. I'm not sure what we're doing that's heroic, but it's funny how we're congratulated by this guy for just opening packs and spamming random garbage at some squares periodically. I don't know if there's meant to be any sort of story, but right now it just seems like we're fighting some evil squares to protect a castle which is enough for a game as simple as this one. The game doesn't seem to be trying to be too deep or complex and it works for what it is. I liked playing it and would like to see more added onto it. Also, it's very cheap and there's no in app purchases. I recommend this game and hope it gets updates in the future.
