It's a hard game, and I got basically kicked out with a massage saying add it to your wish list XD :(
Mal was anderes, sieht ganz gut aus! Düster und Hoffnung gemischt xP

Oxygen: First Breath is a survival city builder that puts me in charge of a small settlement in a world where there is barely enough oxygen left for humanity to survive. I have to build around the Oxygen Center, keep it running and slowly turn a small group of survivors into an actual community. The first thing I noticed is that the game makes oxygen feel like a real part of the city instead of just another number on a screen. If I cannot keep the Oxygen Center supplied with enough power, everything starts falling apart very quickly. The building and resource management is the part I enjoyed most. I have to keep food, water and materials coming in while giving my people places to live and enough workplaces to keep the settlement running. I can assign people to different jobs, research new buildings and gradually make the whole system more efficient. I also have to think about where I put things because roads and routes matter when I am moving resources around the settlement. It is not incredibly complicated, but there are enough connected systems that I have to pay attention to what I am doing. What makes things more interesting are the environmental problems. I have to prepare for droughts, freezing weather, dangerous winds and cracks that can release toxic gases. The Oxygen Center needs a reliable supply of energy, and I start with coal before getting access to more sustainable sources through research and new buildings. I like this because the game does not let me build a comfortable little town and then forget about survival. I always have another problem coming that can mess up a system I thought was working perfectly. I also enjoyed the exploration side more than I expected. I can find survivors around the world and bring them back to my settlement, while other areas can be explored for useful resources and abandoned supplies. The Signal Tower and Radar systems give me ways to locate things beyond my immediate settlement, which makes the world feel bigger than the small area I am building on. I like having these reasons to look outside my city because otherwise the experience could become nothing more than placing buildings and watching numbers go up. The biggest issue for me is the limited amount of content in First Breath. This version is specifically a free introduction to the full Oxygen game and ends after 50 game days, so I can understand the systems and get a decent taste of the progression, but I eventually reach the point where I know there is more that I cannot access here. I think that makes the game harder to judge as a complete city builder. It feels more like a proper extended demo than a full game, although I do appreciate that it gives me a lot more than a tiny tutorial would. The interface can also take a little getting used to. There are quite a few resources, buildings, workers and warnings to keep track of, and some of the information takes time to understand. Once I get used to the menus and the way the settlement works, it becomes much easier, but the early part can feel like a lot at once. I also think the presentation is fairly basic, although the post apocalyptic setting gives the simple visuals a decent atmosphere. The most important thing for me is that the systems work together well enough to make me want to keep improving the settlement. Overall, Oxygen: First Breath is a very good free introduction to a survival city builder that has a solid idea behind it. I like having to protect the Oxygen Center, manage resources, prepare for harsh weather and slowly build up a settlement that can actually survive. The limited 50 day structure and some of the rougher interface design stop me from rating it alongside my favourite full city builders, but I still think there is enough here to make the free download worthwhile. It gives me a proper taste of the game's systems instead of feeling like a throwaway demo, and I found myself wanting to keep expanding the settlement even after I knew I was working towards a fixed ending. Rating: 8/10
a small little builder demo, it's alright.
Really enjoying the game. 2 things. I'd love a sandbox/creative/creator mode where I can free build. Second, please for the love of god give me control of the camera movement speed.
Oxygen First Breath m'a agréablement surpris !
