You're outnumbered, low on ammunition and the paranoia sets in. This is an action horror-world where enemies get power-ups and you don’t.

Fun, short, challenging. It felt good getting better and faster attempting each run XD
Beat main game in this amount of time. Honestly, really fun game, I normally don't really like arcady games that force you to do long sections deathless, but this game gives you a way to practice and start at whichever boss you'd like, once you have it unlocked, which is fire. Neat concept of beating bosses powers up enemies instead of the player, and ups the ante with (more? or harder) enemy spawns, higher boss HP or just extra spawns during fights. Last segment of the game felt a lil underwhelming personally, when it comes to gameplay, but the small chunk of story the game had to offer felt really sick. I'll probably update this review after doing NG+, but for just regular ending, I'd honestly recommend this game as a short and fairly challenging experience!

Welcome to the ♥♥♥♥ Yourself Simulator where the camera operator has Parkinson's disease, enemies will come flying at you from Narnia apparently (bosses too when you blink) as they gain more power ups, resulting in you loosing all three lives thanks to dying in the exact same spot from different bs spawns. NewGame+ Comes with REAL decorative holes in your bedroom wall, GUARANTEED!!! USE RIGHT CLICK, IT WORKS ON EVERYTHING, FIST THEM AS MUCH AS THEY FIST YOU! 10/10, please add working pc co-op, Nintendo already has Bloodborne 2, don't let them rob us of being able to hold hands while getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ together by keeping yet another exclusive experience behind their overpriced switcharu.
OVERWHELM is an action horror platformer whose horror comes from the extreme hostility the game presents. Almost everything about the game hates you and is designed to stress you out. Unlike most games you are not rewarded for success in OVERWHELM. Each boss you kill empowers everything else in the game, forget fanfare and a powerup. Progress in this game is dread inducing. You're closer to the top, but the mountain gets steeper. Even with the simplicity of the enemies and bosses, by the end the game can be rather hectic. Triage is necessary, the order you fight the bosses shapes the run, an easy early boss might introduce some painful enemies to the rest of the excursion. Don’t worry though, failure is punished too. Dying reduces your field of vision and dulls the sound. By your third death your eyes dart back and forth trying to make out shapes at the corners of your view before you get sent back to square one. It’s not all bad though, defeating the boss allows for healing so if you can tough it out and finish the job you get to keep going. You’re not out for the count until you’re dead. Even the style of the game is intense. A black background with red and white environments keeps visual clutter low and visual intensity high. The soundtrack is subdued but violent. It’s appropriately oppressive, but perhaps not super memorable. All of this combines to create an experience that puts you on the back foot at all times. You start sucking air through your teeth at every near miss and sweating cortisol at every jump. And yet you’ll want to keep playing, you can’t let The Hive beat you. Change your strategy, adapt, evolve, don’t let them OVERWHELM you.
This game will throw your mangled corpse against a wall, many times, but there will be a point when the wall will no longer hurt, and that's when you will strike. Brutal difficulty curve, oppressive atmostphere and great sound design to top it off.
Ok so imagine a megaman game if it was A) very nearly a horror game B) custom built to challenge you while under the most intense anxeity a game can instill in you. I love it so much
You ever play a game as a kid that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with your mind and you freaked out not knowing if the game was doing that or if your going crazy? MGS2 style? Don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ look up anything and put your headphones on.
