OverField is a game that caught my attention because of how much it tries to combine into one colourful little world. I play as a new explorer working with Rota Technology, travelling between ordinary reality and the mysterious OverField while trying to uncover what is going on. The miniature style is easily one of the first things I noticed because everything looks like a tiny animated world. It gives the game a very cosy feeling even when I am dealing with strange events and dangerous enemies. Exploration is the part I enjoyed the most. The different areas are designed like little box gardens, with plenty of things to investigate, collect and interact with. I liked wandering around instead of constantly rushing towards the next objective because there are resources, crafting materials and other surprises hidden around the environments. Moving between reality and the Field also gives the exploration a nice sense of mystery because I never quite know what I am going to find next. The combat is fairly light compared with a more serious action RPG, but I still enjoyed putting together an exploration team and dealing with the enemies I encountered. Different members have their own abilities, so building a useful group becomes part of the progression. The combat does not completely dominate the game, which I actually appreciated. OverField feels more interested in letting me explore and experience its world than turning every few minutes into another major battle. There is also a surprisingly large amount of stuff to do outside of exploration. I can build up my own space, place furniture and customise how everything looks. Character customisation is another big part of the game, with outfits, accessories, hairstyles and dye options giving me plenty of ways to change the appearance of my characters. I liked these features because they give me reasons to spend time in the world even when I am not progressing through the main adventure. The social side is probably where OverField feels most different from a normal RPG. Rota Plaza gives me a place to relax, and there are activities such as beach soccer, barbecues and even cosplay contests. I found these little activities quite charming because they make the world feel less like a collection of combat areas and more like an actual place where the characters can live. There is also crafting, with recipes allowing me to make things such as food, clothing and furniture from resources I discover while exploring. My biggest issue is that the game can feel a little unfocused because there are so many different systems competing for my attention. One moment I am exploring a strange dimension, then I am managing my home, changing clothes, crafting something or taking part in a social activity. I like having variety, but I sometimes wished the main adventure had a stronger sense of momentum. The free to play structure also comes with in game purchases and chance based purchases, which is something I always feel a little cautious about in games built around character collection and customisation. Overall, I think OverField is a charming exploration RPG with a surprisingly large amount of content packed into its miniature world. The exploration, character building and home customisation are the parts that kept me interested, while the relaxed social activities give it a nice change of pace. It is not perfect and the number of systems can make it feel overwhelming at times, but I really like the cosy atmosphere and the idea of treating the world as somewhere I can actually spend time rather than simply pass through. There is a lot of personality here, and I think the combination of adventure and relaxing activities makes OverField worth checking out. Rating: 7.3/10

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Is this a video game, or a dream come true? I believe those wanting a 3D platformer, where you find hidden things all across huge, stunning looking maps, have been wishing for such games for a long time. The level design and aesthetics remind me of Pikmin 3, and it's quite beautiful. A genre like this is very rare nowadays, but holds a special place in my heart. Although...and it does worry me so much, There are quite a few very fixable bugs and glitches. Mostly problems with audio and the UI, that do hurt the experience in small ways. None of these errors stop you from playing the game normally, but you do notice them. Especially some audio problems where the volume changes inappropriately. (Signing in also was a more troubling task than it should have been.) - There are also not a lot of maps right now, and while I think the time to complete each map is paced rather well, experienced people will probably complete them too quickly. A game focused on exploration and collecting needs many, many maps!!! Very large ones with a lot to do. Hopefully these issues are addressed. Because it will turn this game from a great one into a splendid one. I would so dearly hate to see such a wonderful thing be cursed with obscurity, over bugs and issues that are easily fixable...
very cute and relax game
cute and funny
its cute, but has some text issues and a janky control system that i hope will be fixed in the future
Its a cute game, its the gacha exploration type and its not very active but the graphics are gorgeous and the japanese VA is really cute and pleasant, the combat is cute and fun too. The game is extremely generous for a gacha, always giving pulls from playing, and i only played hypercasually over a few months missing a lot of events, but i got the characters i wanted and even managed to fully rank 5 a limited character with dupes, it also showers you with cosmetics so you can do a lot of customisation which is rare in a gacha and lastly you can play the game how you want you dont need the best units just play whos fun and cute, this is the last gacha ill ever play
