Its a ok game its a lot like the late 90s fps games and can be fun
i wanna overdose after playing this.
This game has potential but it is very broken. The damage system is bugged sometimes i kill them in 2 shots and sometimes it takes 8 shots to kill them no matter where i shoot them. Sometimes the enemies aren't carrying weapons but they can still shoot. The lack of an auto save or checkpoint system makes the game very frustrating, the AI can sometimes walk and shoot through walls and doors. I did not finish the game since i could not get past level 4 I'm not sure if i was doing something wrong or if the game was bugged. 3.5/10

Infinite Double jump get shot trough wall horrible control sometime stuck with knife and cant switch to gun
Pros: Decent sound design Atmosphere and graphic design Gun play is alright Cons: AI will sometimes clip through walls and shoot through walls AI runs in place and is overall very stiff Very easy to cheese through levels through clipping and and running away all in all I'd recommend it props to the dev for being able to put together such a nostalgic feeling game
Its dark as hell for some reason, you cant see that far ahead of you. There's zero options in game and even in the folder they don't let you change much. Enemies will rarely miss and sometimes just completely dominate you and take away all your health especially in groups but sometimes just one or two enemies can do a ridiculous amount of damage. Ammo is somewhat scarce, and you cant pickup enemy weapons. And last but not least and as others have pointed out the enemies health is wildly inconsistent, especially at range. Occasionally enemies will take up to 6 shots to put down even with headshots, shooting close range helps but regardless sometimes your gun just doesnt do enough damage its the strangest thing. Even if your a fan of bad games this isnt a fun-bad or funny-bad game this one is just flat out broken and boring. Overall I mean its a .50 cent game but even with that being said its still super bad. save your dollar trust me this one is terrible.
Я прошел ее в 2024 да это прям дисбалансный калл но на 25 мин приеольно хоть и скучно
Do not buy. There's nothing here to recommend. It's an unfinished product. Yes you can reach the end game screen in 60 minutes but there's no AI, no level design, gun hit detection barely registers, almost no sound, no music, no story. Even the 1 achievement for finishing the game is bugged and doesn't work.
Informed decisions here. This game is janky, and not amazing. But that doesn't mean there isn't anything to enjoy here, niche as that may be. I'm a big fan of 2 things this game has going for it, FPS maker and the WW2 Commando trope, where you're behind enemy lines, cut off and NEED to finish the mission or all of the polite and democratic world will soon perish! The game is an FPS maker game, with all the quirks that comes with. It's not the best use of the engine, by FAR, but for this price, it's enjoyable, where it doesn't break. The mapping could use some work, but things like the AI are what the engine allows, and I can't fault the game. This isn't a conventionally appealing game. Be aware, be informed. I enjoy it tho.
Developed and published by bigredB., Overdose WW2 is an indie first-person shooter that blends an alternate-history World War II setting with the fast-paced gameplay philosophy of classic FPS games. Rather than striving for historical accuracy or cinematic realism, it embraces an arcade-inspired approach where constant movement, rapid firefights, and straightforward objectives take center stage. The story follows a lone Allied paratrooper who becomes separated from his squad during the advance into Germany in late 1944, leaving him to navigate hostile territory alone while confronting unexpected threats born from the game's fictional interpretation of history. This premise provides enough intrigue to keep players moving forward while maintaining the simplicity that defines the overall experience. The core gameplay focuses on traditional run-and-gun combat that will feel immediately familiar to fans of retro shooters. Instead of relying on cover mechanics or squad commands, success depends on mobility, accurate shooting, and quick decision-making during firefights. Weapons are designed to deliver satisfying action without unnecessary complexity, encouraging players to push through enemy positions at a brisk pace. The campaign is structured around a series of linear missions that prioritize action over exploration, although observant players can still enjoy searching environments for useful supplies and hidden details. The game's straightforward design ensures that the combat remains the primary attraction from beginning to end. One of the game's more distinctive qualities is its alternate-history concept, which allows it to step beyond the usual World War II formula. Rather than simply recreating familiar battles, the narrative introduces unexpected developments that separate it from more conventional military shooters. While the storytelling is relatively modest, the fictional setting adds variety to the campaign and creates opportunities for encounters that would not exist in a historically accurate game. This creative direction gives the adventure its own personality and helps prevent it from feeling like another generic wartime shooter. Visually, Overdose WW2 reflects its independent development roots with graphics that favor functionality over technical spectacle. Character models, environments, and visual effects are simple but effective enough to support the game's emphasis on uninterrupted action. The soundtrack and sound effects complement the battlefield atmosphere with convincing weapon fire, explosions, and environmental audio that reinforce the intensity of combat. Although players accustomed to modern AAA production values may find the presentation dated, the overall aesthetic fits comfortably within the retro-inspired vision that the developer clearly intended. The Steam description also highlights plans for additional content beyond the main campaign, including extra story missions and a separate zombie mode. These additions aim to extend replay value by offering fresh scenarios after players complete the primary adventure. While the initial campaign serves as the foundation of the experience, the prospect of expanded content demonstrates an effort to provide a more complete package for those who enjoy its gameplay style. Even without those additions, the game succeeds in delivering a focused single-player shooter that remains faithful to its old-school inspirations. Overdose WW2 is ultimately a niche experience aimed at players who appreciate uncomplicated first-person shooters with a nostalgic design philosophy. Its limited scope and modest production values occasionally reveal the constraints of its independent development, and the gameplay can become repetitive during longer sessions. However, its commitment to fast-paced action, accessible mechanics, and an entertaining alternate-history backdrop allows it to stand out among smaller indie shooters. Players seeking a polished modern military simulation may leave wanting more, but fans of classic FPS titles looking for a compact and enjoyable campaign are likely to appreciate what it offers.
