I am a original Kickstarter backer and After fully completing Lissa's Rout i think it is safe to say that i liked the game and hope you will give it a try. Rout choices leave a bit of a bad taste sometimes like you really want to have a option to embrace or slap them rather than the dialog's you can choose which sometime all seam like bad choices. I don't want to drop too many spoilers. Also if you get stuck don't worry just start over till you find you are where you want to be. Even bad ends have achievment though so if your a completionist you want to do all routs good and bad But i will say one thing that is important. Try playing as both genders. I hope you will enjoy the game as much as i have. =) I you want to know best rout choices then look to the spoiler below
Mayu is lesbian so you must be female. Food choices: She likes spicy yuzu raman. Lissa is strait so must be a male. Alexis ?? More to come later her rout isn't finished yet.
Lissa's route makes me sick.
Enjoyable game, the artwork is well done. The only issue I have is the game is on the shorter side. Not skipping reading you will be done in under an hour or 2. It is a nicely done game and gives actual choices which is a nice touch and something I enjoy in these games. So would recommend especially if its on sale.
this isn't one of their best works. it feels moderate to bad. the endings felt just bleh. 3/10
Not you're average VN/dating sim. Whilst some of the endings can seem abrupt, the overall interlinking plot and bizarre twists can prove to be a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Ultimately, it's definitely worth a few play throughs despite the relatively short length (when compared to other VNs).
Our Lovely Escape, developed by Reine Works, is a visual novel that immerses players in a heartfelt story centered around workplace relationships, personal growth, and the challenges of creative collaboration. The game follows the protagonist, a new employee at a small otome game development company, as they navigate the dynamics of an all-female team dedicated to producing romance games. Throughout the narrative, players experience a blend of everyday office life, moments of friendship, and the subtle tension of budding romances, all set against the backdrop of a tight-knit, creative environment. What sets Our Lovely Escape apart is its focus on character-driven storytelling. The game emphasizes meaningful interactions and emotional depth, allowing players to build relationships with various team members, each with their own distinct personalities and backstories. Dialogue choices influence how these connections evolve, providing a sense of agency that shapes the story’s direction. The branching narrative structure offers multiple endings, encouraging players to revisit the game to explore different outcomes and character arcs. This replayability enhances engagement and allows for a richer understanding of the story’s themes. Visually, the game showcases detailed, high-definition artwork that reflects classic Japanese visual novel aesthetics. Character designs are expressive and nuanced, conveying emotions effectively and drawing players into the narrative. The inclusion of animated CGs adds life to key story moments, making the emotional beats more impactful. Complementing the visuals is an original soundtrack inspired by traditional visual novel music, which creates an immersive atmosphere that supports the game’s tone—balancing moments of lightheartedness with introspective and tender scenes. While the game has received mixed reviews, it has garnered appreciation for its heartfelt portrayal of workplace dynamics and romantic tension. Players have praised the writing for its sincerity and the well-rounded development of characters, though some critics note that certain plot points could have benefited from deeper exploration or tighter pacing. The relatively small scope of the game means it may not appeal to everyone, especially those seeking complex gameplay or extensive world-building, but it excels as a focused narrative experience centered on relationships and emotional nuance. Ultimately, Our Lovely Escape delivers a warm and engaging journey into the lives of a passionate team working together in a creative industry. Its strengths lie in the compelling character interactions, branching storylines, and atmospheric presentation. For fans of otome and romance visual novels who appreciate stories about friendship, love, and professional challenges, this title offers a charming and thoughtful experience. While it may not redefine the genre, it stands as a sincere exploration of human connection within the familiar yet unique setting of an indie game studio. Rating: 6/10
If you were to cut up a bunch of magazines/books, throw the pile of paper shreds at the wall, and arrange the scraps on the floor into some order, you'd probably find better writing than this vn.
meh... to weird to even try to understand ...
This game has taught me two things: 1. Deciding what to eat for lunch can literally get you killed. 2. Even when you think you have made the right decision you will still end up dead. There are only three "good" endings, and much like The Way We All GO, the cutesy, cheerful exterior hides a dark, eerie truth.
