Picked up this game and while Tower Defense games aren't a genre I am familiar with, I still had a good time. It's a great game to come back to, a lot of fun playing multiplayer (if you have a friend to play with) and it's clear the developers put a lot of work into it. I was surprised at how feature complete the game was (it even includes a level editor). There's a lot of potential here for the game to grow and I look forward to seeing what they plan on adding to it. My only criticisms are minor. The UI for the main menu looks very stock and it's difficult to read some of the smaller text (but I believe there's an option in game to scale this up). Rounds never break, so it's difficult to keep up the pace, but this can be remedied by playing with a friend and splitting your focus between tower building and upgrading. If you're a fan of MOBAs and/or Tower Defense game, and are looking for something different, Order of the Gatekeepers is definitely worth checking out.
Seems very fun, but as of right now the Campaign does not let you go past the first level. You finish all the waves up til the last wave, which says "Victory!", but the game never actually goes to that last Victory wave, so you just sit there until you decide to quit. You can choose levels by hand rather than playing the campaign, but I would like to go in order. So until the devs see this and push out what I hope is a small fix, I'd hold off on it. Other than that issue, the game seems extremely fun, especially if you're someone who loves theorycrafting and very in depth systems in games. EDIT: The Dev fixed this issue within 1 hour and that was really my only issue with it so far. It seems extremely fun and looks like it has a whole lot of potential for hours of fun and trying new strategies. Big thumbs up from me.

Thumbs up for active developer, but... Disclaimer: I want to be very clear that I'm not saying the game is bad. I think it's pretty neat, that's why I have some hours logged- but this has truly been my subjective experience so far: there's a severe learning curve, but no real guidance. Hah! Now I can deal with those Invisible waves. <game: sends Ethereal waves so you lose> OK! Now I can deal with those Ethereal waves. <game: send Invisible waves so you lose> OK! You have to build both every map! Now things will be- <game: sends Divine waves so you lose> OK!!! Now I have anti-Invis/Ethereal/Divine so- <game: sends another special wave you didn't prepare for so you lose> OK!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 0 gold left but I have at least something to counter all those- <game: sends armor type you have the least damage against with 80% magic resist> O!!!!!!!! K!!!!!!!!! Now I have defended against literally everyth- <game: next wave is 400% stronger without warning so you lose> Sigh.
this is pretty much an oldschool wc3/sc custom towerdefense game that does everything right. enjoying this a lot. just started, but really like what i have seen so far. complex enough and should have plenty of replayability from what i´ve seen so far. dev is active as well and the buisness model is straight forward without anything shady. give it a shot :)
I've been a big fan of Tower Defense games my entire life. Everything from Bloons to Defense Grid: The Awakening to StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War UMS to Plants vs. Zombies and whatever else I'm forgetting. I'm also a huge fan of MOBA-style games as the many hours of Dota 2 on my profile would suggest. Order of the Gatekeepers has been able to combine aspects of both genres to create a very challenging and very re-playable experience. Anybody who buys this game can dive right in and have fun, but it also has a higher-skill ceiling for those that want to play around and experiment with different tower/item combinations. Last, but not least, I understand the developer to be very active in updating and maintaining the game-play and mechanics, so it's nice to know that he's passionate about the project.
Fantastic game, overall pretty unique concept. It's satisfying to play and keeps you trying think of new ways to play it, and the sheer variety of strategies makes it fun to see how other people play too. Also, the dev is constantly updating it!
The shop, which the game is heavily reliant upon, is an utter mess with bad explanations and a mediocre UI. Clean that up and maybe the game would be much better rated. As is, it is a Tower Defense game that is trying to do a bit too much with too poor of a presentation to make it all work.
the game play is a bit slow for my taste but if they added a fast forward thatd make using items and abilities hard so i know why it is this way, its pretty good tho if your into tower defense games id check this out
As a lover of all tower defense games, I give this game a big thumbs up.
A great tower defence game with plenty of depth. You can level up so each time you play you are gaining a small bonus and there are LOTs of strats available to you. Well worth checking out. Needs a larger player base for online play but you can still enjoy a game yourself and gain XP.
