Its been an absolute joy building Orb of Creation. It embodies almost everything I love about video games: discovery, adventure, exploration... Its truly a blessing there is a medium in which I can express myself so well. If you are a fan of incremental games, give this a try. It won't disappoint.

Very hands on, progress at snail pace, but the biggest problem is the clustered interface with subsubsub menus and not knowing where to go for some stuff. Also the game introduce infuriating rng, being lucky with the spell you get can make thing easier or harder by a lot.
I love the concept of the game but the game feels too frustrating to really enjoy it. Buying upgrades and trying out spells is interesting but there is too much fat in the UI. You end up spending too much time swapping tabs and loadouts which feels nice when you can buy 30 of them at once but it starts feeling overencumbering when you spend time setting up your spells to only buy 2 or 3. Which would be totally fine if not for the issues I have with research. The cost scales too much to make you try to focus your setup to create a build but it's really frustrating as I have no idea what's coming so I can't plan ahead. Alchemy is the apex of this problem as you have a lot of useless stuff between the important recipes to progress. While I can't claim that this is an incomplete game, it has a lot of fat that simply doesn't encourage me to engage with it. Some people will love it, but I'd rather skip the pain.

Crazy grind required. Demo was much better.
There are a few too many major negatives for me to recommend this one. I like the art, music, and concept, but the execution left me a little disappointed, overall. The game organizes things thematically, which makes a certain sense, but it makes it difficult to remember where everything is. Purchasing something the affects a particular attribute you are looking for may not be in the place you'd expect, which leads to a lot of memorization, and mental fatigue. I would have liked to have all the things that affect a particular attribute to be lumped in one spot, then becoming available as they unlocked. I kept waiting for a sense of accomplishment, and it didn't come. You just keep doing the same thing. This could have been offset by spacing out the achievements to feel like you're at least get a drip-feed of dopamine, but this is one of those games where the vast majority of the achievements seem to come at the very end of the game. Ultimately, it kind of feels like a slog, even though the concept is decent, and it doesn't help when some of the upgrades feel like downgrades. When you level up your casting level, the price of spells goes up so much that it takes a while to get to the point where you can cast more than one or two spell between lengthy breaks for the mana to refill. I kept finding myself lowering my casting level, but the game seems to force either level one or your highest level achieved with no in-between option. That made playing more a chore than it should have been.
Arbitrary and totally opaque/undocumented progress gates. I shouldn't need to consult a guide to pick the 'correct' upgrades or get quasi-softlocked.
beta was more fun than the full release. full release just feels... boring
This game is far too addictive. Uninstalled for the best reasons imaginable. 10/10
I really enjoyed this game in the v0.5 release. But it just doesn't grab me the same way anymore in the 1.0 release. I spent so much time just buying random things because I don't know how to progress further, then I'll get lucky and advance to the next little bit before I get stuck again. None of this is interesting or exciting and one of the Argomany tooltips encourage not using a certain upgrade which then massively slows you down. It's a shame, I really enjoyed this game and there's a lot in here, but now you can get much more interesting incremental games for 1/3 of the price.
Game ate my save after too many hours.
Things get way to expensive too fast. It becomes a grind after a short time that sucks the fun out of the game. I played it before 1.0 and see no real difference to earlier states. I really like incremental games but this one is just too tedious.
