Opus Cortex: A Nonogram Puzzle Story

I've enjoyed nonograms for a long time, but this is the first time I've played a nonogram game with a story. I'm enjoying it a lot! The non-puzzle elements don't do anything that detracts from the star of the game: the well-crafted nonogram puzzles. One thing I appreciated a lot about this game is the varying difficulty - the puzzles get progressively more complex overall, but it's paced in a thoughtful way that makes progressing through the game smooth and fun. Art is cute, and I've found myself humming the background music here and there even outside of the game. Steam Deck support makes solving a puzzle or two before bed a really fun nightly activity for me lately! Easy recommendation for the price!

Might be the most challenging game of it's kind I've ever faced. I also like how the nonograms are intregrated themselves into the story.

Very engaging and fun game with tons of interesting puzzles. Watching a picture slowly emerge as I solve each part is incredibly satisfying. It’s both relaxing and mentally stimulating—perfect for small break during the day. Highly recommended for fans of logic puzzles, or anyone looking for a calm, thoughtful way to pass the time.

Good puzzles, decent story. Worth your time if you love Nonograms

i love it when nonograms /picross games have a story, it makes more enjoyable and feel more like I accomplished something , which this games does well .some the end game puzzles were quite hard at first ,but the developer listened to feedback for various things so by the time i got back to it later is was changed/fixed and i was able to finish the game.

A couple puzzles can’t be solved without guessing, and also exiting a puzzle in the middle of it causes it to be cleared completely, without any warning! Also the game sometimes crashes and forgets your progress, I had to restart a (big) puzzle I had finished :(. Still recommending the game because I enjoyed it overall, but you have to keep these issues in mind.

If you want a nice casual puzzle game, this is definitely a good choice. A bit like sudoku, in that you have to work out sequences from number clues, but otherwise nothing like sudoku. Good logic game. The only downside, the music is a bit repetitive, but for the price completely acceptable, you can turn it down and listen to your own tunes, their is no voice acting.

A fairly short game, taking roughly 4hrs to complete from start to finish. The puzzles themselves are pretty bad, but I really enjoyed the story and the way the levels were presented. The puzzles were integrated into the story, in a way I haven't encountered in many "story & puzzle" games. I found the story interesting, and would have loved to see a more fleshed out ending. It starts off as a mystery, but once you find out what's happening, the story just sort of gets dismissed and has the ending you would expect. Back to the puzzles and why they kind of suck: - There is no penalty for clicking the wrong square, which you'd think would make it easier but it doesn't, because it means there's no indication when you make a mistake. - There's also no way to check if you're right as you go. Some games have "check if correct" buttons, or hint buttons... this one has nothing. - There are several puzzles where you need to guess, sometimes a large portion of a puzzle requires guesswork, because multiple squares could fit the number clues. I had to use a guide for a few of the later puzzles as I found them impossible without it. - The number clues don't change in any way as you go along, making it hard to keep track of which ones you've completed (until you've completed an entire row/column). But I really really liked the way the story was integrated, and was genuinely curious to find out what happened next. So I'm still recommending this, even if the puzzle aspect of the game is less than ideal.

It was my first time playing a nonogram-type game, and it was really fun! I definitely recommend it.

Na początku są dość małe i szybko się je rozwiązuje, ale po pierwszych dwóch pomieszczeniach poziom trudności wzrasta i rozwiązywanie kolejnych puzzli zajmuje już więcej czasu. Nie zdarzyło mi się zgadywać kolejnych pól, zawsze był logiczny kolejny ruch gdzieś dostępny. Fabuła gry opowiada historię robota, który próbuje odnaleźć się w dość niespotykanej sytuacji - i szuka swojego miejsca na świecie. Jest ogólnie liniowa, ale co jakiś czas gra oferuje wybór kolejnego poziomu do rozwiązania z kilku dostępnych pozycji, a każdy poziom nawiązuje do wydarzeń fabularnych - to na pewno zaleta tej gry, przypomina mi Murder by Numbers. Bardzo podoba mi się styl graficzny - kolorowe postacie i ciekawe lokacje do odwiedzenia. Oprawa muzyczna jest w porządku, nie przeszkadza w skupieniu się na nonogramach. Podsumowując, przyzwoicie zrobiona gra z solidną porcją zagadek typu nonogramy, a w dodatku za całkiem rozsądne pieniądze. Polecam, warto pograć za cenę kawy z ciastkiem!
