Lovely and cute little game, I really enjoy it already. I can see why his 100 girlfriends who really really love him would like it. Good game to play if you need to pass some time or want another game to 100%. It seems enjoyable enough to wanna 100%, even if I don't have much time in it yet. It scratches a certain itch. Not sure what's intended or not so I want to put out some things I've noticed. 1: The "resurrect" ability seems SUPER strong, as it doesn't resurrect but just summons X amount of units. Being able to summon high-cost units for free without needing to have them die first, at the slow wait of the ability's cooldown, is strong. Granted, I'm not gonna use it forever as I wanna use other stuff. First impression is that it's the "meta" if you wanna steamroll the game quickly 2: You can refresh what modifiers a stage gives for a unit by going to the main menu and back. It feels like it shouldn't work like that? That's just a personal opinion. It would make it much more grindy, I suppose, if you had to clear a stage before the options reset. 3. I like the cute little voice lines and these type of modifiers are something I always enjoy in any game. Even if it's not the "best" choice, I can't resist having my unit be a "Lady" so they're all pink and cute. The voices could get annoying after a bit for some people but I like it and you can always just turn it off. 4: No changing of hotkeys. I think the default hotkeys work just fine but it feels weird not having that as an option. Just me complaining and being nitpicky. I recommend the game. If they add updates and make it better/add more content, that's always welcomed. The game, as is right now, I think is worth the price and worth the time to play. I've had a very good first impression.

Looks like your girlfriends were right when they rated it a 10. I loved the demo and that the progress carries over to the full release. If for some reason you don't believe his girlfriends or me that the game is fun, the demo is still available and since the progress carries over you lose nothing, just explore the mechanics and pay attention to strategizing and you will have a blast.
Open The Gate: Just A Little – A Little Game With A Lot of Charm
As a fellow Vietnamese gamer, I just want to start with: Thank you for making this game. It's always nice to see Vietnamese developers trying something different, and Open The Gate: Just A Little is a fun little step into the strategy / roguelite-ish space. What I like: - The concept is simple but surprisingly addictive. - Cute character and unit designs. - Really nice art style. - The different units, titles and upgrades give you something to experiment with. - Music is genuinely top tier for this kind of small indie game. - And most importantly:
HÙ!
I don't know why, but that little "hù" sound makes me happy every single time. For around 73,000 VND, I honestly can't complain much. The price fits the amount of content very well, and it's an easy game to pick up for a quick session. There are some problems, though: The camera can be pretty annoying. Sometimes when I position a unit in a certain spot, the camera shifts away from the center toward the left. Then I have to manually fix it again. It doesn't ruin the game, but doing this repeatedly gets irritating. I've also noticed some visual glitches while waiting for enough gold to purchase units. Characters and their available effects sometimes flicker like someone is repeatedly turning a light switch on and off. Gold generation could also use some balancing. On certain stages, income feels very slow compared to what you need to build an effective army. An upgrade path for gold generation would be a great addition if there isn't already one later in the game. My biggest criticism is simply the lack of variety. Right now the basic objective is: Defend tower → make money → summon dudes → destroy enemy tower → repeat. It works, and it's fun, but there's not much outside that loop yet. More objectives, events, quests or alternative victory conditions could give the game much better longevity. Overall: 7-ish/10. It's small, charming, affordable and clearly made with love. There's definitely room for improvement, but for the price? The developers' girlfriends might have exaggerated with that 10/10... but they weren't completely wrong either. Looking forward to seeing where the game goes. Hù.
Quite A banger for my 5 bucks. I like it when the character yelliing random sound, cant get a better war cry.
A simple yet quite addictive game and I really like the variance system, gonna make for meself a whole drunk army
I really like the game, it's fun, addictive and nice to look at and the concept is cool! My main issue is how slow the collection of gold is to produce units, especially in the early stages of the game. As a result it gets too difficult too early. I also echo the thoughts of other people on here that there should be a tutorial that explains the mechanics of the game, that you can go back and defeat earlier levels to unlock other units. It's a really fun game though, so I recommend it and with some of the improvements above it'll be great!
A simple but fun strategy game with cute pixel art. The gameplay is easy to understand, but unit positioning and team composition make it surprisingly engaging.
This game is really simple and interesting. At first, it's a bit hard to follow, because coins earning is slow, and I didn't know that we should play again to earn other kind of characters. It would be helpful if there are some kind of tutorial boxes at first. Another thing is, I think it would be better if I can see the stats, or at least a brief description of each type when I hover on the stage icons. Because I'm a bit clueless and I have to finish the stage before I could read the stats, it took more time than I anticipated. For a perfectionist, or collector kind of players, I suggest you could put some kind of category where it shows how many types of a characters, and how many have I achieved along with their stats. Just some suggestions though, the gameplay is already fun and chill. Would recommend!
I came into this game just wanting to "support Vietnamese devs" but ended up getting completely hooked and put in a continuous marathon session for hours. Just hit 100% achievements, so time to leave a review. For an indie game priced ~ $5, this is an absolute steal. Great job.
Not too much complicated but fun tower defence with flow gameplay. Definitelly a great time killer and fun game
