beautiful as the day I first played it
oldy but goldy

this was one of, if not the best mobile game back in the day. i am so happy it came to steam and without micro transactions too. super enjoyable gameplay loop in terms of the combat and upgrade system, especially if you like enemies that have unique ai and the threat management that comes with that. some bosses are quite easy, but all of them are unique. there are many different ways to build up your character and play style, the game isn't super hard, but it takes skill to win.
Half-baked mobile port
Small, but fun borderless arena fighter with neat progression and responsive combat, but it should be polished more for it to be worthy for steam release.

I am more positively biased towards this game due to what it is at the core, but i just cant ignore the cons, so i'll start with them first.
Negatives:
Game is poorly ported for a steam release. It's been on mobiles for 12 years already! And under the main negative review, dev said he didnt have resources and TIME to get it out proper. Like, dev had no deadlines from where im looking, and all time in the world to sort out the graphics, controls and UI, which he brought to an "operational" state, but still with a lot of room for improvement. Idk if it is because game's engine being old and mobile-first, but at least the game performs the same as on mobile due to that choice. Regarding controls/UI polish, right now its getting along, but on release it was painful for keyboard. Defaults are not really good, but operational, had to use autohotkey script to rebind these. Now game has a .cfg file in AppData folder while dev figures out how to implement rebinding menu in the game itself. 12 YEARS! Also that .cfg menu doesnt allow for rebinding to mouse buttons because engine's documentation doesnt contain these buttons (but contains TV REMOTE buttons!!! XD), so thats very unfortunate. Compared to mobile release content-wise, it seems its just 20 levels, 2 bosses and a "trial mode", which is a score challenge with RNG involved in some of them. If enemy drops a heart/shield and you're full on HP/shields, it converts to score. Some levels (minority) might not get 3-star'd even on a perfect play because enemies just didnt drop enough hearts and you will need to restart few times until they will. Frustrating, but these levels are very good for farming currency.
Positives:
Last time i played this game was several years ago when it just stopped opening on my iPad 2, and all i remember is having difficult time progressing, grinding for currency and access to better skills was paywalled (it was F2P). In regards to progression, it has been sorted out for the release. You'll be able to max everything you need almost at the same pace you'll finish everything this game can offer. Gameplay is simple, but engaging, as it was on the tablet. There's a good variety of enemies, skills, characters, combat doesnt get tedious, you can mix/match to what fits your playstyle the most, but respec'ing bought upgrades costs a little, and bought characters are non-refundable, so be careful. Finishing main levels took me ~6.5 hours i think? And trials took longer than they should (~2.5 hours) due to all the restarts before dev balanced the 3-star scores in a patch. Miscellaneous stuff:

Game reeks of 2010's atmosphere: trendy media, SCP-096 screams, cake trap, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flappy bird and pedobear enemies, such a time capsule this game.
OST is few, but pretty good
Zesty Green Guacamole recipe in "Pro tip"`s

I would highly recommend this game to those who played this in the past, or just enjoys arena combat, but only after controls rebind update. You can still do it through editing .cfg, but i dont think its fair.
I'm loving this on steamdeck even MORE than on my phone. Great port great work by the developer! Will continue playing to unlock it all!
Excellent jeux simple efficace!
Amazing game ! Was very fun on phone and is even better on steam !
