This is actually a pretty good puzzle game. It reminds me of classics like Portal, The Talos Principle, and vibes of Obduction at times. Obviously One More Experiment is not as polished as those big titles, but I don't mind. The puzzles are quite satisfying and there are plenty of mechanics. I still get introduced to new stuff after 2 hours.
If you like nonviolent puzzle games, I can't recommend this one enough. I've been playing with my kid and we spent a whole afternoon playing nonstop. The puzzles make you feel smart without stressing you out. You don't need precise twitch skills, it's more of a thinker than a test of controller agility. I'm already looking forward to the weekend to play another session.
Much better than expected. The puzzle mechanic of this game is sufficient to make your brain cells work in a satisfying way. This game has puzzles that are truly fun to solve in diverse fantasy-like environments. There is also a story in between this. There are some timed sequences in this game, where for example you press a button and a timer starts running and you have to fulfill a task within a limited time. But the good thing is that there is always enough time to fulfill that task without you needing to have ninja reflexes to do so. There is always a few seconds of extra time. This is a good design choice of the developer. It is the puzzle solving that should determine whether you can pass the test, not your dexterity. The game starts easy and then becomes more difficult. But the puzzles never become truly difficult. If you are a die hard puzzle fanatic that is searching for a true challenge then you might be disappointed here. I was not disappointed. I solved the puzzles in a relaxed fashion and was pleasantly entertained by doing so. There was nothing to stress about and I was content with that. If you like games like Portal, the Talos Principle and Q.U.B.E, but you’ve already played those games, then this game is a nice game to pick up after that. Overall this is a game I recommend.
A surprisingly competent little puzzler, took me a few hours to complete and I streamed the whole thing with the dev watching, which made for a great time! This right here is an indie in the truest form to me, no publisher, no prior experience at a AAA dev team, just one guy making a game for the love of the craft. For that alone I’d say it’s worth the price of admission
I think the surrealistic environment setting of the game is well done, puzzles are mostly not too difficult. I enjoyed playing this game. So recommended.
