One Hell of a Week

Satan tricks the protagonist into [i]one hell of a week[/i] in Hawaii. There’s no need to panic though, there are beautiful women everywhere. Nevermind that she needs to get one to fall in love with her by the end of the week or she loses her soul – no pressure. [u]Information[/u] • Yes, there are tiddies and genitals. • 4 romance/lust routes, 1 lust only route, 1 [i]other[/i] route – all women • About 2 hours per standard romance/lust route. The other routes are much shorter. • There are timed choices, but you can easily scroll back and try again. [u]Praises[/u] • Relatable protagonist who is – in the eyes of society – a loser. She’s a gamer and likes anime. Socially awkward. Yep, that’s the target audience alright. • Absolutely ridiculous sh*t happens in the story and it’s amusing. • Nice racial diversity among the characters. • Only mild problematic behavior from the protagonist. No coercion or crossing boundaries to get to sex. Everything is consensual. (Though, there are accidental situations, but that’s usually Satan’s fault.) • There’s actually some character development, so it isn’t all about the anime tiddies. • Several CGs and a gallery. The romantic or sexual CGs are nice, but I also really like the background art. They really tried to capture the beauty of Hawaii. • Mentions the issues with rich white people exploiting Hawaiian islands for tourism profits. [u]Complaints[/u] • One of the characters has a dog, but he isn’t illustrated/shown at all. There is also no option to pet the dog. • Alani’s route is definitely the canon one, and thus, has the most work put into it. The other routes are good too, but it does feel uneven. • Lots of continuity issues. Like, really bad. • Typos. • No Steam achievements. Despite the cringey continuity issues, I really liked this yuri VN! It’s a lot better than [i]several[/i] of the same genre that I’ve read in the past. I hope the devs work on the issues and maybe add Steam achievements in the future. In fact, at times if you are spending time with a character but you missed her on a previous occasion, she would reference said occurrence as though you had spent time with her. This interrupts the flow of the game and makes it incoherent when it happens as you are left piecing together the picture of what your game character might have done then, did you leave a good impression or a bad one? Some scenes are well made whereas some you can see that it’s worked on less, or that the scenes are done by different artists. Thankfully even with some kinks, the story is as silly as you can imagine and makes up for it. The characters are charming, annoying, intriguing, you name it. The main thing is they will give you an opinion and feel for them which is a plus. If you’re looking for a lighthearted dating sim visual novel with a silly story and some unexpected mini-games to spend the evening with, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Wow okay so I don't usually post reviews but this game deserves it. It was hilarious, really hot, really sweet, and had so many unexpected plot twists that it held my interest. Definitely worth the money. Also, I think my favorite route was Cho Akiyama.
