I played Odline for an hour, and it’s quite fun. As a game artist, I especially appreciate the texture of the background design—it perfectly captures the nostalgic atmosphere of 1980s arcade games. I also enjoy the wide variety of weapons and animations. That said, I wish the aiming system supported diagonal shots and offered auto-aim toward enemies. It would also be great if the character could automatically turn to face opponents. Overall, I’m excited to see how the game evolves and look forward to its future progress.
Ruhları toplayın, silahlarınızı yükseltin ve şimdiye kadar yapılmış en mekanik açıdan karmaşık 2D nişancı oyunlarından birinde yıkıma yol açın.

its a great start to a game, everything runs pretty smoothly and its a nice low risk game to play when youre wanting something simple yet still challenging
I enjoyed it! I loved the art and color choices for the enemies and weapons/level ups. Feels like a game I could see myself losing track of time while playing because it's easy to get immersed in <3
Ondine is aiming to be an endless style shooter game, but with interesting terrain and movement mechanics. There are many mechanics in the game, especially with the different weapons and playstyle, as well as the unique enemies that come together to make a new experience each stage. What I really appreciate is how the game takes its time to slowly build you up to the different mechanics each stage until you get to the endless horde, trying to get a high score. What I would like to see in the future is more emphasis on unique terrain and platforming (maybe different stages with different mechanics and enemies). I would also like to see challenge modes where certain weapons are locked or have debuffs to using them (similar to Pact of Punishment from Hades). Overall solid game!
I tried out Ondine and it was nice! I liked the combat gameplay and it's challenging yet fun. As someone who tends to be bad at these type of games, I still ended up greatly enjoying it!
"Ondine: Prototype" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is a laughably badly made amateurish platformer shooter without much content, and when the best thing you can say about a product is there's not much of it, that's damning. This is incredibly basic as platformers go... jump around, avoid, shoot, uninstall real fast. In the modern era of high quality bleeding edge PC gaming, these kinds of flat, lazy, lackluster platformers just don't cut it. Platforming is a dead genre for a reason. Even though this is "free", it failed to attract any interest for gamers here on Steam Direct for obvious reasons. So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. The graphics here are particularly awful, simple, mismatched, badly done 2D Adobe Flash like sprites, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. A peak of 2 concurrent users (according to SteamDB) for a "free" game is a disastrous public reception. Out of 130 million potential players here on Steam, almost nobody was interested. Even though this is "free". That level of rejection speaks a lot for the quality of the product. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam.
Honestly a pretty decent foundation for a game! The controls need a bit of work but the different weapons are unique enough and the character feels responsive and doesn't glitch in any way.
