"On The Earth Shift :)" is another pointless VR tech demo on Steam... this one is a trite "management" tech demo where you wave your arms (tentacles) around in VR to control aspects of the planet Earth to manage it for various alien influencers. It's largely made as a joke game and only attracted joke reviews on Steam Direct, where it failed badly for obvious reasons... chief of which would just be poor quality, amateurish technical delivery. Visually, the game looks pretty bad (and decent visuals are a must, gaming is a visual medium), we can be sure this is not an asset flip. This is because the game assets look so bad, no self respecting asset creator would publish them. That's a fail. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets of any level of quality usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at [b]only 2 concurrent players[/b]... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Since free games don't contribute to your game collector badge and other profile stuff, is this a worthwhile addition to your Steam library? Pass on this one. There's no immediate financial commitment, but there are thousands of more compelling games on the platform that will give you a lot more enjoyment for your time.

Простая, на первый взгляд, механика сдвига слоев земли быстро перерастает в сложные пространственные головоломки. Визуальный стиль минималистичен, но при этом успокаивающий и приятный для глаз. Особенно понравилась музыка - она создает расслабляющую атмосферу и идеально подходит для вдумчивого решения головоломок. Однако, игра может показаться немного однообразной, если проходить ее слишком долго за один раз. Не хватает каких-то челленджей или бонусов, которые бы разбавляли основной геймплей. Тем не менее, это отличный выбор для тех, кто ищет что-то спокойное и затягивающее на короткие игровые сессии. Рекомендую попробовать, если вам нравятся логические игры и медитативный геймплей. Не ждите взрывного экшена, здесь главное – вдумчивость и спокойствие.
