About
Off to the next round! Experience a new omnibus simulator with OMSI 2 and start discovering Spandau while driving the omnibus. OMSI 2 is the successor of the well-known and awarded omnibus simulator "OMSI - The Bus Simulator". OMSI 2 not only offers the routes and buses you already know from OMSI, but adds lots of exciting new features. In OMSI 2 you can drive the first ever articulated bus in the OMSI history, the MAN NG272. Explore the new omnibus line 5 covering a total distance of 12 km from the subway station Ruhleben to the psychiatric clinic Spandau. Thanks to the newly added chronology function you´ll not only be able to drive through Spandau in 1986, but also to relive the changes taking place in Spandau between 1986 and 1994.
Enjoy the charm of the 80s and 90s and find out how the period after the fall of the Berlin Wall was. And this all at wheel of a double-decker or articulated bus.

The articulated bus MAN NG272 with the exact physical and visual recreation of the joint kinematics as well as corresponding sounds and systems (bending protection).
The MAN NL202 as well as reworked and added models of the known types SD200 and SD202 (more years of production, emergency door openers, destination boards, sound variations depending on vehicle number).
The Spandau omnibus line 5 from the subway station Ruhleben to the psychiatric clinic Spandau covering a total distance of 12 km, several new buildings, a squeezed timetable and a tight 5 minute rhythm with various bus termini and assignments for diverse and long lasting driving pleasure.
Replication of original timetables and tour plans for omnibus lines 5 and 92.
Chronology function: Relive the change taking place in Spandau between 1986 and 1994! OMSI 2 now replicates the exciting years following the German reunification and all the innovations and route expansions (line 137 to Falkensee) that came along with it. This function also allows temporary changes to maps or routes caused by construction sites or special buses.
Advanced and improved AI traffic (better road- and steering behaviour, railway- and subway traffic)
System damage model including different malfunctions which take time to fix
OMSI 2 supports a world coordinate system so it is possible to import a DEM (Digital Elevation Model) with the help of a DLL you can even program yourself.
Animated real vertical profile on the Spandau map
New script functions such as full matrix view, advanced access to system variables.
New editor functions: automatic import of aerial imagery, terrain adapts to run of the road, improved spline connection algorithm, rotation of objects around all axes. Intersections can easily be equipped with individual vertical profiles.
Saving optimized loading of maps which allows considerably larger maps

tl;dr: usual aerosoft product - utter ♥♥♥♥, ♥♥♥♥ tons of DLCs and overpriced 👍 Considering similar games, such as ETS 2, this game is really poor. I'd say it's more than fairly obvious that once the base game was released, all development efforts have been pushed towards pumping out as many DLCs as possible and if not none, then very little effort has been put towards improving on the base game. In over 12 years since the release of this game, the menus still look straight out of 2008, the graphics and textures feel poor and the tutorials are still difficult to follow and have incorrect keybinds. Given that this game costs £25, I would expect a lot more than what it currently has - I can get a better experience from a Roblox game. EDIT: decided to rebuy this game purely because of it's physics. that's the only reason that you should buy this game. but to add on, ai handling is horrid - cars will merge into your lane, right in front of you after dropping from ~70 km/h to about 10 km/h, they will not react to the player's horn, and usually the player's bus being directly in front of them. they also frequently pull out of junctions directly in front of the player.
Her yer birbirine benziyor.
2026 REVIEW: As an avid traveler worldwide, I have ridden many buses. In fact, next to trains and planes, I have been a big fan of train simulators and flight simulators. To be perfectly honest, "OMSI 2" was one I hesitated. The fact that it's a 2013 32-bit software which brings its own set of issues. As others mentioned, needs a 4GB patch to be ran everytime you update the game. But there is one thing that caught my attention, the loyal following of support of those who create maps and buses for the software. There is only one software right now that comes even close with that support that is also older and the results of how people are able to make things awesome for it after so many years is the 2008 "Train Simulator Classic". But "Train Simulator Classic" still has its original developers working on it along with their more modern "Train Simulator World". OMSI 2 on the other hand, it's not being updated any longer. The two developers behind the software had creative differences and one started LOTUS and the other, no one is not so sure what happened. But the thing is, OMSI 2 is supported by its fan-base despite all of its shortcomings. They are still making their money and what keeps this software going are its legion of fans who feel that this is the definitive bus driving simulator with many buses, many locations worldwide being offered by pay or via free download from other sites. THE CRITICISMS AND JANKINESS OF THE SOFTWARE I am not going to tell you that this software is perfect! The fact is that the graphics are aged, you need to run a patch to make this game work better. You have to purchase other power tools on STEAM to make things even more enjoyable. The 32-bit limitations kind of mean nothing if you have a modern gaming machine because you still won't be able to run this game in ultra resolution. In fact, I highly recommend using the performance guide on STEAM to make this game run even better. Game takes awhile to load. Sometimes textures are lost. Sometimes your bus jumps to outerspace. You have to modify files to get certain things to work. Yes, OMSI 2 is quite JANKY! It requires a lot of testing and work just to get things to run right. It may be to aggravating for people. It's not user friendly. But it is the definitive bus simulator. 13 years later and more buses and maps from people all over the world are still creating content for this game. At the end of the day, "OMSI 2" is abandoned software. Abandoned by its developers but saved by its community and other developers/publishers. In 2026, its successor has not even close to garnering the same support this 2013 janky software has achieved. It may not be perfect, it may have been abandoned but damn! I love the rebelliousness of making this 2013 software still relevant in 2026 and onward! BUT WHY GIVE IT A THUMBS UP IF IT'S JANKY!? There are a lot of modern bus games that look so much better than OMSI 2. That runs more smoothly and is "game ready", like most games, you play and it's ready to go. "OMSI 2", think of it of having a classic, vintage vehicle. Far from being modern, needs quite a bit of love and attention. But once given, you will discover is true charm. Similar to "Train Simulator Classic" with its plethora of trains, maps and accessories. "OMSI 2" has so much to offer and what is available for it. As mentioned, it gets support over 13 years later with paid and free buses that you can find online with added routes. The thrill of learning to get a bus started and going. Weaving through traffic, picking up passengers and driving through a map add on and even if you haven't traveled to these regions, discovering things that really exist in the maps and also taking you out of reality and enjoying the ride. It's actually a very cool experience to drive buses from different parts of the world and driving maps from different parts of the world. So, it does feed both the simulator excitement but also feeds that traveler instinct within me each day. Last but not least, as you can see I'm going with a positive review. But I do recommend getting the two Power Tools: AUXI Expansion Kit and the Power Toolkit. I also recommend getting OmniNavigation or Bus Company Simulator for the maps because the game's own map is terrible. And the Enhance Environment Pack as well. And please remember, the 4G tool you must download elsewhere is a must! And needs to be ran everytime you update OMSI 2! WAIT, ARE YOU SAYING I MUST SPEND MORE MONEY TO ENJOY THIS GAME! You don't have to, but it would make this 2013 software a better experience. Yes, this means spending more money to enjoy the game. But on sale, these things are not that expensive. And #2, whether or not it's "Microsoft Flight Simulator", "Train Sim Classic/World", "Tower!Sim 3", "JR East Train Simulator", "DCS", pretty much all simulator games that are worth owning, you're going to have to spend money no matter what. When on sale, the add ons and buses are much cheaper than other simulator games, so do know that. Please refer to [steamdb or isthereanydealdotcom] TAKE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT! And one final thing to say, there are a lot of reviews spanning the 13 years of OMSI 2. Do not be swayed by negative reviews from a decade ago. Seriously! What people experienced is based on how much they put into the game, what kind of hardware they used over all those years (you don't know, they may have been using a old potato). Do your due diligence and checking recent reviews because what people may have complained about in the past, the buses and the routes including software made for OMSI 2 may have received updates. Also, these people probably didn't run the 4GB patch. I can't blame them though, you don't really run across a game that requires quite a good number of tweaks to make it work right. So, just know this... If you are ready to commit to "OMSI 2" and know what you are getting into, you will discover a lot to love. JUDGMENT CALL: The amount of support for OMSI 2 is amazing despite the main software having a lot of shortcomings. I was looking online of OMSI creators in different countries and many buses from those countries that were easily available and part of me hopes a publisher will work with them so these guys can get paid for their hard work (if they want that) and we are seeing that happen! The game requires extra attention, work on your part to get it running right. And again, it's a 2013 software, don't expect it to look like a modern game. But if you are looking for a bus game that is ready to go and ready to play right off the bat, then choose "Bus Simulator" related games (modern games which look a lot better btw). "OMSI 2" has a lot to offer, but only if you are willing to commit the time needed in making this software work for you from here on in. That's what makes "Train Simulator Classic", "BVE" and other software continue to remain strong. It's community behind it! OMSI 2...even in 2026, there is so much content available and still being created, it's amazing! As long as their is continued community support for this legacy, abandoned software. "OMSI 2" will be around for many years, possibly decade(s) to come. It is still the definitive bus simulator, despite its overall 2013 jankiness.
