The UI is not user friendly. You will be very confused at the start, not having fun and it will take you quite a long time to learn this very simple game. You only start out with 1 unit and when you go to buy units there are very poor descriptions. As a gamer, I can tell right away that it is a Pay to Win model. If you're going to release a game for free, release the game for free. Don't make people spend money to be able to play the game as it should be played with 10 units. If you plan on playing this game it will either take you hundreds of games to acquire an army OR you can just buy it with real money. Great idea for a game, poorest execution 2017.
A Great little game! In some parts, it reminds me of Chess. Play with your mind and you have a short funny match with old school graphics! I can recommend it!

Game Rip.
This game is awesome if you enjoy strategy. It's turn based strategy at a real fast pace, with very competitive multiplayer gameplay. If you don't love strategy though this game is not for you, but if you like competing with others then this game can absolutely get you addicted. Building your team is very satisfying, and it is real cool to see the different strategies and team builds in ranked. The game is free because you can buy cosmetics and skip some gameplay with real money. I personally have not spend any money and unlocked ranked within 10 hours of gameplay. After I unlocked ranked I never felt I was at a disadvantage because I didn't spend money, I now even have 4 excess units and money to buy up to 10 units if I feel I need to change my ranked setup. The game is very cheap when you chose to spend money and there really isn't any need to pay at all. The game has a small playerbase, which makes finding games harder, but I've made multiple friends ingame and I don't think I would have if it had a massive community. Learning the mechanics can take a bit of time, and some players get confused while doing so. Just pay attention when buying units and you should be fine though!
I have to say, this game is pretty nice! In short:
Pros

Easy to learn rules that are fun to master.
Constant development of game.
Basically no need for payments, and while it does cut off the grinding time, it's more fun to acquire units the usual way. (Eventually you can buy skins. Yay for the Skeleton Queen!)
Active and nice community, they surely will help you if you will ever get lost around.
Cons

Lack of players - While it's not a big issue, there are times when there is little to noone to play with.
The game can get a bit grindy. While I had no bigger issues - I have lost 6 times during 60 games - I do understand theat getting defeated can be a bit dissapoiting. Remember to not give up however - practice!
Old guards are actually hard to beat, apporach with caution. Wink A bit longer... Start can be a bit hard - The game's mechanics are not completely explained in tutorial, and you will surely forget the unit's moves at start. However, after few games you will get a grip on the mechanics, and then it's just a matter of technique and strategy. [strike]Or another patches.[/strike] The gold gain can seem a bit slow - Every won game is about 300 gold if 3 units survive. At the same time, matches aren't usually longer than few minuts, with exception of 10 x 10 games of course. There aren't always players around - you might get into situation where you can't find a match for longer time. Well, that happens rarely, and you can always use chat. It lists if there are any players currently looking for game, and it can sometimes help with getting a match. As for me, during the 12 hours of gameplay I have managed to get myself a nice squad of 12 units, what's pretty much enough for any king of math you would like to play. The game is develpoed by two people - one taking care of the game itself, second doing server stuff and keeping this game up and running. And I tell you this, they do hella good job on that, even if some bugs appear from time to time. (They're patched pretty quickly anyway.) As for money, yes you can pay real money to get so-called coins, and then buy units with those coins instead of getting gold from matches. There is also expanding the roster so you can get even more units, or skins for said units for times when you feel like bludgeoning your enemies with surfing desk instead of shield. But that's it. You can even get coins by playing with Dev - he plays from time to time and does streams often. Community! It's fun as well. There are some old guards from times when this game had still 4 units only, and the new people just like me who have joined a week ago. Tell you waht, everyone's nice so far. That would be it. Looking forward to battle with you!
i can´t believe this game is for free. I love the art, the mechanics... the obad part is that there isn´t too much people online everytime, but i think is worth it
How to be a gamer(2017-18): -Install an indie game. -Expect it not to be grindy, even though it's free, and created by an indie develepor. -Play for a few minutes. -Leave a bad review. Don't tell me you like strategy games if you're not willing to grind a little. The game is hard to get into at the beginning and the ui is still a little grindy, but the game is brilliant as well as the concept behind it. If you are the type of gamer, described above, then this game is not recommended for you. What I really appreciate is the loyal, active albeit small, community. And a developer/s that will actually respond to your enquiries. If your not lazy and you love strategy games, then this game is for you! 5/7
