Of Gods and Men: The Daybreak Empire — для любителей ретро-игр и тактических RPG.

A very simple concept, but extremely well executed. Pros: - Smooth gameplay, no technical issues or visual problems. - Decent story with a quite number of characters. - It is much fun and very relaxing to play. Not too deep, but still requires tactics and strategy. - QTE system is a nice addition and brings another layer of gameplay. - Nice pixel graphics. All clear and coherent. Cons: - Ear clawing sound effects and terrible music. - AI is predictable. I hope the devs work on this concept and expand into further releases. A very promising foundation for a future 4X strategy game.
4/14/22 update: I'm switching to a thumbs up because I really enjoyed the game -- aside from having to load old saves to work around the bugs. -------- Original review: I'm eager to switch to a thumbs up if this game continues to receive bug fixes. I don't share any of the same complaints I've read in other negative reviews (e.g. non-hero units dying too easily, lackluster story/characters). I really enjoy this game so far, but I keep hitting game-crashing bugs in Chapter 4. - Sometimes enemy armies spawn in my occupied territories, causing a battle to initiate which crashes the game - Sometimes an army I have positioned in a territory magically becomes an enemy army and invades another one of my territories - Sometimes when a battle begins (like in the scenario above) there's confusion between allied and enemy units, so an allied unit appears within the enemy group; Sometimes the battle begins with every unit on the map being an allied unit and I can't exit the battle - Currently now that I've defeated every enemy group on the map, no other events have become available and there are no options for me to move forward I'm going to keep reloading my saves to see if I can get past these bugs, but in its current state I unfortunately can't recommend it -- although I'd really like to, because up until this point it was exactly the experience I was itching for.
Gameplay is quite basic, and the UI has a lot left to be desired. But on the bright side, the graphics are quite pleasing to look at, and it's cheap. I really can't ask a lot more for this price. It's definitely not a high quality game for sure, but still I could feel the developers put a lot of effort and love into it. Maybe they would get out a better game next time.
This isn't the most complex of tactics games, but I appreciate the efforts by the developers and hope they are able to make something more substantial in the future. I would recommend removing the manual quick time event for attacks and just balance around dice for hit accuracy.
Of Fods and Men é um bom jogo é eu o recomendo.
Before I played Of Gods and Men: The Daybreak Empire, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
