Great gameplay!
Absolutely amazing entry into the series. Getting all achievements took me about 115-120 hours of actual playing time, beating the secret super boss at about lvl 75. You could technically put more time into it if you wanted to because the game allows you to farm stat boosting nuts/items in the end and really test out the teams you can make with all 35 maxed out characters, ultimately to get a superfast time on the secret super boss. Town building aspect is fun and doesn't weigh down the speed of the game unless you want to take time to decorate it and collect all the items. I saw a secret black market shop decor item for 2 million leaves, im not sure how many secret items there are with the black market wishvale mechanic but even when you have gotten every single achievement in the game there is still things you could technically do in regards to character building and town decorating. Totally worth full price, def worth a sale.
I love this game :D
One of The Best JRPGs I've Touched. All I can say is that its basically a Champions of the Continent The mobile game made into a PC Port with much better pacing and more a feel that octopath 2 gave off. One thing i did hate is the fact unless you did all the quests up to the Finale of Master of All and Gain Ammity with most if not all traveler recruit up too that the chances of getting the materials for both the Arena and Theatre are capped at 3%, also the fact there arent any cait/octopuff boosting items besides the skill rare monsters and the very horrid balancing of the lucky coin which only gives a 5% boost to rare monster encounters made leveling very strict no way to slightly over level making the fights early one seem a bit unfair especially King Paradis/Master of all being way to hard for a early/mid game boss. though ill have to say the story, voice acting, and even the two ending from the mobile game being fully reworked was so satisfying it felt like a baby was born from COTC, OCTOPATH, and OCTOPATH II all in one to make this game. If i had to really pick at one thing i enjoyed it was the story of wishvale as a whole was so interesting the way each villain made a reveal and what each of them did kind of made me as a player feel more motivated to beat them.
玩起来还算可以吧。算是量大管饱了。 这个IP很难找到代餐,音乐,美术,玩法都是拉满的回合制。 快快出八方3吧。有多少HD2D的都端上来吧,好玩,爱玩。
Octopath Traveler 0 is an adaptation of the mobile game, reworked to remove gacha elements and fit as one cohesive story, taking place in the same world as the first Octopath Traveler, Orsterra. I think the game's flaws become more apparent knowing this. For example, some of the (recruitable!) characters feel irrelevant to the story, and some don't even have a proper questline other than the one where you recruit them. Additionally, I think a lot of the sidequests felt pretty weak (though all Octopath Traveler games have a chunk of those), but it becomes more apparent when the game is a 100+ hours adventure. I think trimming down parts of it would have improved the flow of the game. If you play it like a mobile game, a little bit every day, rather than long play sessions, it can be easier to manage. As for the positives, and the reason why I recommend this game, I will say that overall, I enjoyed the storytelling aspect and the life given to Orsterra a lot more compared to Octopath Traveler 1 specifically. I'd say it's the most fun way to enjoy Orsterra. The mechanics are more refined, there's more twists and turns in the story, and it feels more cohesive as a whole. The convergence of the seemingly separate storylines is done in a more convincing way than in the original game, and part of it is due to how much time they could take shaping out the main story. I recommend this game, but know to pace yourself or you might burn out on it! Luckily, taking breaks is fine, and the game eases you back into its story and mechanics quite easily even after a long break.
After an ambitious and amazing Octopath Traveler 2, this installment is more of a return to the ways of OT1. Unfortunately that also means that most of the music and cities are "asset flipped" from OT1, but that should be compensated by a story that is much more vast than both OT1 and OT2 had (noting that this game is essentially a PC port of Champions Of The Continent, with the corresponding consequences), with more game hours of content than any of its predecessors. The writing and feels in the cutscenes are overall not quite as deep and striking as OT2. The fighting system is careful to not take the deliberations of OT1 and OT2 that led to game breaking character builds, instead balancing this with free SP/HP refills and a backup row to switch individually at any time. Together with most abilities now being very generic (do specific damage type X times at Y mana cost), the fighting system just doesnt have that tension it used to in the previous titles. Many abilities from the previous titles got removed, without any new special abilities introduced beyond the backup row. The wishvale "home town" system is a double-edged sword bestowing you with additional grinding missions particularly in the beginning, while also later yielding free resources. If you are smart about it, you can get massively overlevelled and have an explosion of gold without any additional farming effort. Not having been familiar with COTC before, I did not expect such a mechanic in a game like this, but it doesn't fit too badly with the existing paths mechanics. As a fan of the series I am most of all happy to get to play another installment and experience a fully new story, however I will note that while Octopath Traveler 0 is a worthy successor to Octopath Traveler 1, it does not fulfill the standards set by Octopath Traveler 2 to me and I hope that for the next title, the developers will get more innovative.
