About
In this game, you take on the role of Chichi Pyonma. She's a 15-year-old high school student from the unremarkable small town of Silver Bay, MN. Today is a particular day — a rather important one — that drastically shaped Chichi's adolescence from this point onward. It is not for the faint of heart.

Before playing this short experience, it is highly recommend that you delve into the contents of pyonpyon87's blog. This is a companion piece to Niomi's debut full-length record, 'chichi'.
A short interactive story!
From when you boot up the game, to the moment it inevitably closes on you, oct 14 serves to tell a short, atmospherically rich, and (mostly) historically accurate story that allows the player to live a few minutes in Chichi's world from a top-down RPG perspective. There is only one ending.
In-depth environmental flavor text!
You can interact with just about every object in the environment. You'll get a little bit of world-building every time you do! Never skip over the details, you never know what you could be missing...
A period-accurate MPEG Audio Layer 3 playback device!
In other words, it's a working MP3 player, and it still has a couple songs on it too! Isn't that cool? However, in order to access it, you might have to snoop around places you shouldn't be.
Cute character portraits!
Everyone's favorite anxiety-ridden teenager gets her own set of handcrafted facial expressions that appear during dialogue! These talking heads, as well as the game's art and visual assets as a whole, were all drawn by Niomi.
Crusty rag!

one of the shortest yet most beautiful games I have ever played.
hmmm
oct 14 is a deeply atmospheric. You step into the worn shoes of Chichi Pyonma on a single, pivotal day in October 2002 in Silver Bay, MN. The description isn't kidding, this day shapes her, and the themes explored are indeed not for the faint of heart. What shines: Immersive Atmosphere: The game nails the feeling of a specific time and place. Environmental Storytelling: Interacting with nearly every object adds depth. Art & Character: Niomi's art is gorgeous. Chichi's expressive portraits convey so much subtle emotion, perfectly complementing the writing. Sound Design/Music: The sparse soundscape and the crucial MP3 player songs contribute massively to the mood. Considerations: Very Short: This is a single-sitting, one-ending experience. Requires Investment: You need to engage with the environment and be prepared for its heavy subject matter. Skipping details means missing the point. No Replay Incentive: Once you've experienced the story and explored, there's little reason to revisit. Steam Achievements would be a perfect addition for encouraging deeper exploration or marking milestones! Hopefully added later. Performance: Played perfectly on my ThinkPad T480 (decent but not gaming-spec), the game running from a Micro SD card. Zero technical issues.

Read the blog. Play the game. You won't regret it. I saw a comment call this an asset flip, but I struggle to believe that. Even if the sprites are asset flips, I was interested in the story all the same. I don't know if it's cringe to say this about a game who's sole purpose might be to get people to listen to the dev's supplementary album, but I connected to the story. I know what it's like to hurt someone I care about. I know what it's like for them to recoil and hurt me. I know what it's like to relive that day. I know what it's like to blame yourself and live in the past. I wish I had advise to give for anyone that might be going through something similar. But honestly, I'm just hoping to get to Oct 15. Best of luck to my fellow devastated.
this is a real piece of culture and art. highly recommended
Taking the game as a standalone experience, it is pretty confusing and it will probably leave you very lost. However, as the rest of the reviews say, it's better to experience this game and put it together with the blog and the visual album on youtube. (You can search them as pyonpyon87's blog on any search engine and Chichi on youtube respectively) Personally i experienced first the website briefly then jumped to this game, afterwards more website exploration and finally ended with the visual album. No matter the order you take to experience this triad of an artwork, you'll find it paints a surprisingly important picture of
moving on from a very traumatic experience, and coming to terms with catastrophic mistakes.
But it's probably better that you come to your own conclusions yourself.
Oyunu baya kısa olmuş 5 dk da bitirdim oyunu bitirdikten sonra etrafta dolaştım belki bişeyler bulurum diye ama hikayeye dair bişey bulamadım kısaca tatlı bir oyun tavsiye ederim.
more of a vent piece w ♥♥♥♥ from other things in it den an original game or story but it free doe
Nah, i understand this is a multimedia project, but the game itself is so poor, even i could throw a game like this in less than a month(and i barely have knowledge of rpg maker) Yeah, you want us to check your website, yes, you want us to check your music, but this game was kinda baiting us to try to find more secrets, when there is barely any gameplay other than some cool secrets that is referenced in other parts of your website. Sorry, this is not my thing, i don't recommend this game. Not making us able to fast forward anything or run, and the intentional game crashes to make everything repeat over and over honestly makes this game feel like a slog to play, and it doesn't feel fun at all. (I came here because some youtube video told me this game had a lot of secrets, i didn't really feel that at all, i think the website and other places is 200x than this game, this game is a low effort to mention other references from your story into this game, it could have been better)
