Obsolete

The story is well presented. Exploring and searching for secrets makes you feel really good, especially when you manage to find a note or the little secret characters (the cat is my favorite <3). This game is a good example of how to take one mechanic and exploit it to the max: each level reveals a different mechanic exploited to the fullest, with more and more dangers, but always 2 to 3 enemies. Really good work, I love games like this because you can see people's potential. I hope it was a beautiful experience to create it. Keep making games, they are really good. Thanks to your two games, I had a huge desire to explore and know more; you really manage to make people want to play. Thank you, guys. 😊

Je trouve ce jeu incroyable (incroyablement compliqué). J'adore mais je suis vraiment nul en plateformer 2D et j'ai eu beau réessayer encore et encore, je n'ai toujours pas vaincu le boss final. Et pourtant c'est un jeu qui peut se finir en moins d'une heure. (5h de jeu) Update : Après 8 HEURES de jeu j'ai ENFIN passer le boss (en vrai ce jeu est génial, le son incroyable je vous le conseille de fou)

meh It's fine for what it is. I don't mind it being short, but it doesn't have enough gameplay; It's not a game. A very basic platformer connecting a few words of a story. There is no reason to waste time with this when life is short and better games exist. I didn't complete it, so maybe i missed out on something clever although i doubt that. But. This is not a cheap & lazy game just slapped together. Nothing is awful, nothing outright sucks. All the controls are smooth and some challenges are good. It has decent enough levels with minimal assets. The music is fine. Maybe better than fine but it wasn't so impressive. It was just there. This could be a better game if it had more "game" in it, and if the story meant something. If this were one level in a bigger game, it would be very nice. Obsolete is not expensive at all, so it's worth a look.

An atmospheric, smooth little experience, but I wish it supported a controller.

Obsolete is an aptly named 2D retro pixel platformer, one of literally thousands polluting the Steam marketplace. In this case it's very poorly made, featuring the old dead tired lazy "dark foreground, light background" schtick that hundreds of other pixel platformers use, because it's a lazy way to avoid having to do foreground art properly. Which goes hand in hand with the use of retro pixel "art" as a lazy way to avoid having to do proper PC graphics, because that's something that apparently eludes thousands of indie "developers". Resolution and controls are locked and can't be changed. This along with the deplorably bad, ugly pixel "art" (which looks bad even compared to other lazy pixel "art" games), and weak gameplay makes this impossible to recommend.
