OBSCURA

i played enough and although the illustrations are gorgeous and the cirrus story seems compelling, in general this otome feels bland. there's not enough universe to build on but a mystery disease and finding a cure, that's about it. nothing else is pushing me to continue or meet more characters, and the protagonist feels like overreacting all the time, whether it's positive or negative. maybe this is a "come back when it's out of early access and with a discount", which is unfortunate atm.

i ADORE this game so far, both chapters out are phenomenal, i won't lie i'm partial to cirrus (morally skewd, sadistic, priest) = amazing loll. but genuinely both the art and writing are very well done; the ability to create an eerie atmosphere both visually and audio wise is great. i prefer darker or more raw stories so i definietly recommend the game to anyone looking for a otome/visual novel that explores darker more 'tabboo' topics. tldr: cirrus is a hot evil priest and i love it

This is such an amazing game honestly you can’t even compare it to anything else. It breaks my heart that it doesn’t have a bigger fandom yet because I love it so much. You can see how much love and care the developers put into this project for their players. Do not be deterred by the heavy warning list! Many of those elements only appear in the bad endings, and the way the game handles them makes some minor and some major. TL;DR Summary A dark romance indie visual novel featuring 4 love interests, customizable pronouns, and highly impactful choices. It features incredible art, deep storylines, and plenty of CGs. The Positives Complex Characters: All of the love interests are morally grey and incredibly complex. None of them feel one-dimensional or flat. True Agency & Choices: There are plenty of dialogue options, and your choices actually matter. You even have the option to entirely diverge from a character's path early on if you decide you don't like him. Exceptional Handling of Dark Themes: One specific route contains dark themes, including non-consensual BDSM. However, the game handles this exceptionally well. I was incredibly surprised to see a dedicated aftercare screen. Built-in Safeword System: The developers included a brilliant safety feature. If the content ever gets too intense, you can click the corner of the screen or hit the safeword button to exit the scene. Cons to Keep in Mind While the pros heavily outweigh the cons, there are a few important things that can vastly change your experience: A Guide is Mandatory: You cannot go into this game blind and expect a good ending (unless you are playing Francesco's route). The dialogue choices are not intuitive or clear about what is "right" or "wrong," so using a walkthrough is strongly advised. Slow Update Schedule: Because you are buying a pre-release/Early Access game created by a small team of 5 indie developers (who all have day jobs), updates can take months. Biased Character Updates: The developers tend to prioritize the most popular characters (Cirrus and Keir). If your favorite is Francesco or Oleander, you might be waiting anywhere from a few months to a year for a new chapter. Launch Day Bugs: Whenever a new chapter drops, expect bugs. Because of the tiny team size, it takes time to patch them out. You are buying an incomplete game to help fund its development, so patience is required! Final Verdict If you love deep, dark romance and want a game where your choices genuinely impact the story, please support this indie gem. Just keep a guide handy and be patient with the updates!

Эта игра будет очень интересна любителем новелл, романтических линий и тем, кто любит лор и проработанный мир, где происходят действия. Без спойлеров, но твисты тут лично мне очень нравятся))

great worldbuilding, hot men

this game is by far in my top 3! everything i've seen so far has been amazing from the art all the way to the music and the effects. when in tense moments i feel genuine unease, when in intimate moments i'm very much drawn in. the chemistry with each LI is gorgeous. it can be scary and haunting or shockingly sweet, and above all not what you may expect. for better or for worse. also i adore the fact that we have a safe word because wow it's so comforting and i will say in one route in particular so far i'd say it's mandatory lol :3 i didn't use it but like i said i'm glad it's there. so 100/10!!! i say play this game or get the demo and have a blast because i've never played a visual novel like obscura.

I am absolutely in love with this game, the writing has me on the edge of my seat, the characters are all unique and feel very human and life like, the art is absolutely delicious. I cannot wait for more. This is scratching the itch i have for dark romance vn's. The only negative i can find is that i'll have to wait for more of the stories to release, when i just wanna binge then right now. 10/10, definitely worth getting the early access!

Ok. Full HONEST REVIEW........... I... absolutely.... adore this game entirely. It's so beautifully done between the original soundtrack, artwork, plot, and worldbuilding. I will genuinely never shut up about this game. This is by far the most unique game of its genre in such a wonderfully surprising way. Ranging from the overall purposeful obscurity of so many elements that contribute to the undergrounds mysterious and alluring atmosphere, the inclusivity of character options, and having SO MANY damn good route options.. Like oh my god. the soundtrack. and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ oleanders route is downright phenomenally done. I love how dark it is. the atmosphere is so rich and fully immersed in absolute darkness, secrecy, and veiled motives in all the right ways. I have replayed the bacchanal party scene too many times to count. its like. oh my god. the atmosphere, the scenery, the music (the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ music is the most beautifully haunting, fantastically dark, and something that i could've only ever dreamed of finding something similar prior to playing Obscura. Cajsa ily.) like dudeeee. literally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blew my mind that anything like this possibly existed within the VN world. I'm actively awaiting new updates. I've literally devoured every bit of media across all platforms for this game that there is. Please play. please spend all your money on this dev team. they are so wonderfully talented, hardworking, and i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ applaud them for creating Obscura WHILE managing literal education and jobs. so incredibly beyond words talented... overall. I'm def an Oleander girl with Keir as my close second. give us more sexy oleander pls. thats all. Thank you.

love the world building, the story, and the idea of having the main character disguised behind a mask so i can immerse myself more than other otome games; Kier is an absolute shy boy angel (i would die for him happily) i cannot wait for the story to progress. <3

A beautiful, dark story with such a specific, thrilling atmosphere. The MC is really funny with alot of attitude etc and not flavorless unlike in many visual novels i've seen. All the different stories and routes with them are super well made, and you never really know what (or who) will stab you in the back next. The music alone is what lured me in the most (not saying everything else didn't lol). my playtime alone is just me chilling to the music, it really is just a good vibe,,, Really a must play, but with CAUTION.. :eye:
