Obliteracy is a word game set in a utopian future where energy is generated from language itself. Word-warriors pilot enormous mechanized robots in a tournament to prove themselves worthy of the title of Champion—and to earn the chance to craft the future of the world.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

It's a pretty entertaining concept for a game. Single player is really short though. To play online to need to register an account, and it takes forever to get a match. Not because of the normal reasons, like laggy servers or whatever, but just because it will take hours for anyone to make a move. You're not required to stay in the little match you've set up, either. You can exit out of the game, get up, wander around, go to work, and then come back to the same match. It sounds nice in theory, but it just makes playing with other humans really s l o w. Otherwise, pretty ok story, and it's free, so if you want to play the game to kill some time why not.
Game was OK. I played for 10 hours and enjoyed myself. Then my progress was lost. Not going to bother to redo.

yes, it is a word game, but it is actually really fun. it introduces mechanics throughout the game, and there's giant robots fighting each other with lasers. It is also super satisfying to make a long word.

GOOD
It's a fun and casual game that acts as a sort of mix between tile based word games like Scrabble and fighting Robots. The backstory is actually quite interesting: words have such power that they can literally serve as a source of energy when carbon-based fuels ran out. While there is banter that's whimsical and witty in my opinion and cut scenes to carry along the back story, I found them a nice way to introduce each character, while setting a clean break from game to game. I've only played offline, but the AI really challenges me quite often. I particularly appreciate the in-game dictionary and option to submit words for inclusion that I know are valid but aren't present. Bottom line: if you like word games and robots (or otherwise have a good sense of humor), then this is a game worthy of consideration in my opinion. Kudos to the developers--it's fun to play, solid and works as advertised.

Impressive word game, especially for a free to play title. Single player is centred around multiple shorter playthroughs with characters of differing abilities offering slightly different challenges each time. This offers some replay-ability without quite having the staying power of something like Letter Quest.
Perfekt zum Englisch lernen! Bin durch mein Steam - Roulette auf dieses Spiel gestoßen und konnte nicht aufhören :D! Könnt gerne reinschauen :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFtTXSpMigQ
