You'd been woken up by an entity which created you. It put you in a testing area and wants you to complete the puzzles and open the end gate. When you open the gate, the test is finished and you complete the task which the entity gave you.

I got stuck twice, both of them near
the door where the axe is located
. To solve it, I had reload, but after that I lost items that I had already placed, like
the power cells
, so I couldn't finish the game unless I started from the beginning. Positive things are the graphics of course, and the lore was captivating. On the other side there are a lot of negative things imo: - Can't turn off motion blur (I hate that) - Jumping is tough. - A lot of unnecesary help in some puzzles and not helpful enough in others that are needed
(square things are doable without numbers in all of them but I don't know how the power cell puzzle works although I had unluck the tips with the missing pieces)
While I enjoyed several aspects of the game, the issue I mentioned earlier regarding getting stuck and losing progress was a significant problem. Unfortunately, it hindered my ability to fully complete the game unless I started over, and as such, I cannot recommend it at this time.
Warning: Asset Flip! Number 217721 is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unreal Marketplace packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took a basic Unreal Engine forest asset/demo scene and made an incredibly lazy, probably 3-4 hours "development" effort adventure game that you can speedrun in less than 15 minutes. It's not a real game, it's just another Russian asset flip scam. It has no value or merit as a real game. My Way Games/Qu!ckSave have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Miniballist" = Endless Turns developed by SGLib Games
"Extreme Racing On Highway" = Highway Racer developed by BoneCracker Games
"The Hunt in the Forest" = Advanced Sniper Starter Kit developed by Hardworker Studio
"Mine the Gold" = Gold Miner Century developed by SplayGame Official
"Muscle Car Robot" = Muscle Car Robot developed by GameNing
"Top Burger" = Top Burger Chef developed by KetchAp
"Dinosaur Bone Digging" = Dinosaur Bone Digging Games developed by Ardian Kaltara
"Trivia Night" = Trivia Quiz Game Template developed by Puppeteer
"CubeXL" = Switch The Gravity developed by App Advisory
"Space Force" = X-Racer developed by Deer Cat
"Extreme School Driving Simulator" = Realistic Car Controller developed by BoneCracker Games
"Extreme Truck Simulator" = Crazy Cargo Truck Driver developed by Dive Sole
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The developers didn't design the game for modern gaming PCs, as such the display resolution caps out at around 1440p, there's no support for the state-of-the-art 4K or higher resolutions. The game simply won't look right on modern gaming displays due to this failure on the part of the developers. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players, and the worst part is these weren't genuine players, these were the Russian fake review accounts that the developer paid to make the fake reviews. Since the fake reviews are all done, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk.
Warning: Review Manipulation! This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Number 217721 is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Got it on sale and I am not feeling like I got a bargain. Graphics are so-so and game play is just hunt and seek with no real purpose of what you are supposed to be doing;. Really gets tedious and boring pretty fast. I dislike enough that I am not even going to finish it. Just a real drag.
The game is fine for the most part. The most critical thing I can say about it is that it can be difficult to see some of the items that need to be picked up. Another thing is that a particular maze will need to be done.. in the dark. The latter left me a bit sour but still I'll thumb up the game. Gameplay here: https://youtu.be/mAkRwi_SLfo
Well, I picked this up with an 89% discount offered, making it just $0.49, and after playing it for a bit, I'm not convinced it was worth that. The motion blur that others have mention is painful (https://i.imgur.com/SstzklD.jpg), but also the vertical sync being disabled results in horrible tearing. I even tried overriding that setting in the nvidia control panel with no success. Furthermore, the graphics quality options (low, medium, high, ultra) significantly change the brightness of the game - in high or ultra, it's almost impossible to see the door at the start, but on low and medium, it's brightly lit. Similarly, the "objects" you have to pick up are very difficult to see if 'ultra' graphics is selected. There's no "save game" functionality, so you have to restart from the beginning if you exit the game. I initially thought there was no sound, and that this was more of a tech demo than a game, but it turns out that the game auto-starts steamVR, and sound was being directed to my VR headset, even though the game was not being rendered there. Despite a somewhat visually pretty forest environment, this really does reek of a half-finished low quality game, which I can not recommend in its current state.
"Number 217721" reminded me the "Aporia: Beyond the valley". This one also represents the combination of beautifully created nature landscapes and complicated but at the same time interesting puzzles to solve. Personally, I'm 100 percent sure I've made the right choice by purchasing the game regardless of several bugs which I faced to while was playing.
Gdy twórcy połatają grę i będzie można ukończyć grę - zmienię recenzję.
This game has the potential to be absolutely beautiful and great fun. I was going to review it for a video, but honestly it was making me super motion sick. The motion blur was too much and the mouse sensitivity was insane. I have the PC on 0 and I was still turning waaaaay too fast. I dropped the Quality to Medium and it was bearable for a little while - but still too much if I'm planning on making a YT video out of it. I don't think I would go back to it unless that was resolved, because of how ill I felt after such a short time playing. Honestly, has potential, but I wasn't able to get through much before needing to stop.
This game is pretty but it has some game-breaking bugs that make it impossible to complete. I can't recommend spending any money on this.
Number 217721 is a thrilling indie adventure game that will keep you engaged from beginning to end. The game's premise is unique, with the player being woken up by an unknown entity and put into a testing area. The puzzles are challenging, but not impossible, and require a bit of thinking outside the box to solve. The graphics and sound design are both top-notch and add to the game's overall immersive experience. The game is perfect for those who love action and adventure games with a touch of mystery. Overall, Number 217721 is an excellent indie game that is definitely worth a playthrough.
