Day one player here, and I enjoyed the game for a while. The concept is great, combat is fine, story has been ok so far(a lot of it is chill slice of life that is slowly building up to something more serious which I like but is obviously not for everyone) and the game is very well made. Great characters and environment which is I think is the game's strength. I was also very surprised that I was able to run it quite well considering my pc specs is just around the minimum requirements. The gacha for the characters is also quite F2P friendly and normally I would easily recommend this game to anyone. However, as more time passes the less I found myself playing the game. First of all, I am the type of player that takes my time. I play gacha games like watching anime that updates monthly. I don't even care if I miss my dailies or even my weeklies, but even then all the grinding in this game has got to me. During the early parts of the game it has always been grindy but I dismissed it as that early grindy phase you always get from gacha games where you have to level up a bunch of your characters that eventually eases up once you start to finally build your teams. In this game however almost every update is just a new mode of more grinding on top of the already existing weeklies. Most of it does not feel very rewarding as well, at some point it just feels like they're distracting you to make you feel like they added a lot of content. Its always repetition of a new mode where you earn a new currency to buy the rewards you want. This game is also where I experienced the worst limited events in gacha games ever. The racing, the fight club, the bagel app, mainly the multiplayer events (maybe except for the prop hunt clone) has all been frustrating, these were so bad that players just started to join rooms then afk just to get the rewards slowly. The only events I liked were the ones that reduced the weekly grinds. Events are supposed to be fun temporary game modes where you can take a break from the main game while earning additional rewards but in this game seeing events feels like seeing a chore to be done. Also while the main gacha, the characters and weapons, have been very forgiving and very F2P friendly, the game actually occasionally releases a second gacha mode (special vehicles and skins) to siphon your pull resources. Others might defend this since you can also use your fons(in game currency) for this but this banner is definitely a resource drain trap. I am not particularly affected by this since I don't get fomo easily but its still worth noting. Some praise this game due to it not having 50/50 but its still a gacha game trying to get your money in the end. Let me address this one as well, the use of genAI. Yes this game uses genAI and does not disclose it here on steam. When the first backlash happened they did get rid most of the AI generated assets back then, even if they did not remove all of it I was willing to turn a blind eye since I believed that they learned their lesson. However, recently they got caught using genAI assets again because they missed a watermark on one of them. This is frustrating because the main game itself is very well made and their ruining their reputation just to save a bit of time and resources on some the assets. People start to dismiss this game as AI slop even if the only AI slop are the few small assets that you might not even notice (although this is just pure speculation but I feel like AI was used on some side content dialogues as well, it might just be poor writing though lol). Players are going to be more hesitant on spending their time and money on this game if this keeps up. Other negative points I can think of are: the combat camera being hard to work with sometimes, typical gacha game difficulty on story fights(you don't even need to try, also fake QTE), the endgame mode is just another enemy HP sponges on a timer, and stuff you buy with fons are very expensive compared to the fons you earn. Overall, the game still has a lot of potential but the level of polish the game had from launch is slowly dropping every update. Every event and additional content drop feels like they are going for quantity over quality. Don't get me wrong there are still great content being released but it all feels watered down or bloated with grinding. Grinding in games is fine but within reason. I will still keep an eye on this game and hopefully in the future I will come back and change this review to a positive one.

The game continues to improve with each update. More and more repeatable baker modes. Definitely would recommend giving it a try
I honestly don't understand how this game has a "Very Positive" rating. People keep praising it for being F2P-friendly, having tons of activities, and offering great combat, but I just don't see it. First of all, this is definitely not an F2P-friendly game. Like most other gacha games, it's heavily designed around encouraging players to spend money. Calling it F2P-friendly feels misleading. The combat is nothing special either. It's the same style you'll find in countless other gacha games, with very little that makes it stand out. The world also feels bland and lifeless. NPCs mostly just stand around doing nothing, making the cities feel empty instead of immersive. The only feature I genuinely enjoyed was being able to drive vehicles around the map, which is a nice addition. The stamina system is another major issue. After you've completed the basic dungeons—which consume a huge amount of stamina—there's barely anything left to do. There are no meaningful monster zones to explore, no rewarding open-world combat, and the few small anomalies scattered around the cities are over in seconds and aren't engaging at all. So after finishing your dailies and spending your stamina, what are you supposed to do? Drive around and race cars for a while? To make matters worse, the developers also completely ruined the first featured character, Shinku. Her kit feels poorly designed and full of unnecessary drawbacks. Her Ultimate constantly knocks enemies away, often pushing them out of her own attack range and making it difficult to complete her combos. Instead of fixing these issues in her base kit, core quality-of-life features—such as pulling enemies back in or gaining reliable survivability—are locked behind expensive Awakenings, making her feel like a "pay-to-fix" character. She's also surprisingly weak against bosses because several of her strongest effects, including a significant damage bonus and her special stun mechanic, simply don't work on them. On top of that, if you want to attack aggressively without constantly getting interrupted or dying, you're practically forced to unlock her fifth Awakening (A5) just to gain the defense and healing she should arguably have had from the start. Overall, her base kit feels intentionally held back, almost as if it was designed to sell duplicates rather than provide a satisfying gameplay experience. Even though her damage has potential, the constant enemy knockback makes it frustrating and inconsistent to actually deal that damage. Overall, I found the game extremely disappointing. It feels empty, repetitive, and heavily monetized. Between the lack of meaningful endgame content, the restrictive stamina system, and questionable character design decisions like Shinku's, this is honestly one of the worst gacha games I've played—and it's probably the last one I'll ever give a chance.
good game <3
Finally, a game where you can spend more time admiring the city than actually playing. The graphics are so beautiful that I forgot I was supposed to do quests. I just walked around for 40 minutes looking at buildings and pretending I'm in a futuristic anime. The game is free, but don't worry... your storage space and free time will pay the price. Came for the open world, stayed because I got distracted by another random street corner that looked like a wallpaper... My GPU saw the graphics and immediately requested retirement...
Appears generous in the start, falls off a cliff later. Even genshin is more generous in late game. Copious amounts of generative AI used, which they do not disclose, even in paid premium skins. Feign ignorance when they forget ai watermarks in textures and ensure the community "Ai is only used in background assets". [1] UI design is sloppy and unintuitive. Extremely clunky, and unresponsive. Misclicks are frequent, if your click is registered at all. [2] Seldom used features are not translated from chinese, with letters often escaping their buttons. [3] A loud audio bug on bootup still happens due to the games audio breaking. This is a serious bug that could cause speaker/headphone damage, or ear damage. It remains unpatched and the common consensus is that its best to launch the game with the volume down. What? [4] All grind is locked behind a stamina system, either daily or weekly. Their "solution" to this was to introduce events that burn stamina at twice the rate, which i wouldnt mind if all rewards were doubled as well. Which they are not, and doesnt solve the problem of having no reason to play when your stamina runs out. [5] The story is in shambles. I was hoping it was going to be brought together at some point. Unfortunately, every chapter gets more and more convoluded and nonsensical. Did the script writing AI run out of ram, or forget the plot? Oh sorry, i forgot we arent supposed to talk about that. My bad. Its clear the appeal in this game is in its characters, which are fetishized beyond what id consider normal even for this genre. A solid 1/4 of my screen is covered in feet the second i open the gacha system. [6] I was drawn in by the city scape. I kind of regret it, and all i lost was my time. Post review additions: [1] This is mentioned very often in social media circles. On reddit, players will violently defend the (200 million dollar) studios use of a free AI generator. [2] The UI is arguably just as important as combat mechanics in a game like this, due to how often you interact with it. This is possibly the messiest UI design i have ever seen. Its honestly quite embarassing. You can break the pause screen by swiping left and right on the phone a few times quickly. [3] I believe the aquarium screen is still partially untranslated. Its been months. [4] This has happened to me roughly 5 times in the over 100 hours i have played. [5] Even money which is tied to the stamina system. This isnt entirely uncommon for these types of games though. What is uncommon, is the pricing on all larger items. Larger items will take you quite literally months to grind due to the hard limitations on income in game. This system does not ease up as you level, effectively forcing you to wait several months for a single high tier vehicle. This is not a passive grind either, effectively forcing the player online. [6] Im no stranger to the gooner bait in these types of games, but at some point its just getting a bit out of hand. If lewd features is what youre after, play Nikke. From what ive seen, at least then you get your fan service with some actual story worth following. If you dont want that fanservice, move over to Wuthering Waves. The only redeeming quality of NTE is the city scape and decent but shallow combat mechanics.
