About
NTE is a supernatural open-world RPG developed by Hotta Studio. The story begins in the city of Hethereau, where you play as its first "unlicensed" Anomaly Hunter. You'll join the crew at Eibon, a rundown antique shop that keeps the lights on by taking Anomaly commissions from anyone willing to pay. Alongside a diverse cast of extraordinary companions, you'll unravel urban mysteries, ride out adventures full of laughs and heartbreak, and write your own stories in the neon-lit streets.
Welcome to the first stop in your appraisal career—Hethereau, a sprawling and vibrant metropolis!
In the crowded halls of the Bureau of Anomaly Control, hopeful Oddities queue up for resident permits, while over at the train station, an Esper commuter snaps his fingers to clean his work suit on the fly. Down one block, a chaotic chase after Danzaburou is spiraling out of control; while across the street, a vacationing silver-gloved Butler is shooting the breeze with the owner of a second-hand electronics shop. Everywhere you look, there's no shortage of intriguingly "abnormal" scenes.
Want to dive deeper into a world where humans and the supernatural coexist? Start your journey in Hethereau to see it for yourself. The lively and quirky daily life here is a grand adventure in itself.

As part of the Eibon crew, you'll never be short on energetic companions for the road ahead.

Open world F2P Gaccha Action RPG set in a modern cityscape. Persona collab when? The Persona jukebox music in this game could hint something more in the future? Lots of handcrafted missions with amazing experiences to be had.

"It's a definition of a masterpiece ruined by increasingly aggressive dark patterns." I've been playing this game since launch (v1.0) on its original launcher, long before it arrived on Steam. Like almost every gacha game, it hooks you early on with generous launch rewards and friendly systems. It's ok, as expected. They even removed the 50/50 mechanic, which made many people call them "generous." But now it’s clear: those good actions were just an excuse and a smoke screen to cover up their growing greed in later updates. With each version, the dark patterns get worse and worse. The 1.3 update is the final straw. The new blindbox/gacha pass (swimsuits + jet ski) costs a ridiculous 20 million fons. I get that the Porsche collaboration in earlier versions (1.1) had real-world licensing costs, but what’s the excuse here for generic (not licensed) summer skins? Let's look at the math: a player can farm roughly 7.5 million fons per month (around 1.2M/week limit plus events). In a 42-day patch version, the numbers simply DON'T ADD UP. The math is not mathing. It is mathematically designed to force you into converting premium currency or pulling out your credit card (or skipping it). Pushing a pass from 12M (Draco, 1.2) to 20M in 1.3 is a massive, unjustifiable inflation. I get the company has to earn money; that's why paid, but man, this is illogical and just laughing at the player base. I’ve been a paying spender since day one because I believe in supporting developers when they do good work. But there is a huge difference between fair monetization and outright coercion, greed, and mocking your player base. It’s an absolute shame. The story, the characters, the world, and the lore are truly WONDERFUL. But all of that potential is completely overshadowed by predatory practices. They thought being the first urban gacha on the market made them untouchable, but competition (like Ananta) is right around the corner. Arrogance and the "first mover advantage" didn't save Internet Explorer or Blockbuster, and it won't save them if they keep burning their core players. My decision: I am DONE spending a single buck on this game, and I am quitting active play. I won't support a company that treats its supporters like cash cows. Of course, this is just my personal experience and opinion. If you are fine with these practices and still enjoy the game, enjoy it like I couldn't. But as a former spender who loved this game from day one: my wallet is officially closed, and so my time for the game. Maybe I will come back in a year or so, receive hundred of "come back rewards" and enjoy the evolved game. I dunno, only time will say and Hotta (the company) will speak.
The game looks really good, its a shame the combat is boring and so many unskippable cutscenes
I haven't played games in a very long time. mostly due to mental health and my life long player 2 passing away, this game was honestly the first one to rekindle that love for gaming and actually have me grind my life away for about 2 or 3 days straight across pc and console. I can't recommend it more.it is genuinely good.
