About
About the Game:
Novorsk is a hardcore top-down extraction shooter focused on survival, tactical combat, and risk-based decision making.
Players enter a sealed city controlled by hostile factions to scavenge supplies, complete tasks for traders, and extract alive. Each raid is a calculated risk. Staying longer increases potential rewards, but dying results in the permanent loss of all carried equipment.
Gameplay is structured around raid-based missions. Players deploy into dangerous locations, explore freely, loot weapons, gear, medical supplies, and resources, and decide when and where to extract. Combat is fast and lethal, with low time-to-kill for both enemies and players. Positioning, cover, sound awareness, and preparation matter more than reaction speed.
All equipment is managed through a persistent inventory system. Weapons, ammunition, armor, medical items, and resources must be organized and prepared before each raid. Inventory space is limited, forcing players to make meaningful decisions about what gear to bring and what loot to extract.
Items found during raids can be used directly, traded, or converted through crafting systems. Crafting allows players to turn collected resources into medical supplies, equipment, and other survival items. Supplies are limited and must be managed carefully to survive long-term.
Traders operate from a secure hideout and provide tasks, equipment, and supplies. Progression unlocks access to improved trades and more valuable gear.
Tasks provide structure and progression and include exploration objectives, item recovery, and survival-focused challenges. Completing tasks rewards experience, items, and access to new opportunities within the city.
Novorsk features multiple hand-crafted maps with distinct layouts and danger levels, including industrial facilities, highways, rail yards and abandoned residential areas. Most maps offers multiple extraction points and different risk-reward paths.
Several AI-controlled factions operate independently on the maps. Strategic Containment Group enforces military control, the Free Novorsk Front operates as a resistance force, and Black Knight Division consists of western special forces contractors controlling key infrastructure. These factions are hostile, unpredictable, and may engage each other as well as the player.
Boss enemies appear in specific locations and present high-risk, high-reward encounters. Defeating or avoiding them is often required to access valuable areas or loot.
Novorsk emphasizes high-risk survival. There is no hand-holding, resources are scarce, and death has permanent consequences. Knowing when to disengage and extract is often more important than winning a fight.

Reviews
The game looks good. It has the Tarkov atmosphere. Beyond that, there’s no good reason to play it and every reason not to. The camera angle obstructs your view, even when your character should clearly be able to see. Enemies will shoot you from under trees or inside doorways that are obstructed from the top down angle by a roof or leaves. This is annoying, but it isn’t game breaking. It could be explained away by the “hardcore” nature of the genre. The more offensive problem is the absolute lack of QOL features. Want your character to follow your cursor? Nope. Want to be able to turn without holding down a mouse button? Nope. Want to rebind any of keys? I hope not, because you can’t. Is there a crouch? No. Reload animations for your starter rifle? There are not. Transparency in the inventory menu so you can have just a hint of situational awareness? Negative. Look, if you want top down extraction, play Duckov. If you want top down gameplay with that more gritty, Tarkov / STALKER feel, play Tunguska. If you want extraction vibes in a cheaper package play Deadline Escape. If you want all the extraction tropes but just PVE play Incursion. If you want the newest hardcore extraction-esque experience play Vostok. I wanted to like this game- I really did. There’a just too much missing right now. Maybe one day it will be a better experience, but right now… this ain’t it.
Really enjoying this so far, has that strong Tarkov flavor without that debilitating heat that makes me sweat bullets and gives me heartburn. Definitely a much more chill experience than your typical extraction shooter, but scratches that same itch quite well. Still a work in progress obviously, but I've yet to encounter anything game-breaking, really only experienced one bug so far, and since this just was released yesterday in EA, its understandable that its not gonna be perfect. If you're looking for something fun, but challenging without having to worry about the toxicity of other players or cheaters, definitely pick this up! Definitely worth the price. I'm playing on Steam Deck and using the dock with a mouse & keyboard connected to a monitor. It has an in-game graphics setting for the deck, and I'm getting a solid 30-60 fps with no stutters. Suggestions: It could use a few basic tutorials, a list of controls, descriptions for items (gun calibers, info describing if an item is used for crafting) ability to crouch.
IVE PLAYED SO LITTLE AND THIS GAME AS SO MUCH POTENTIAL ITS LIKE TARKOV BUT TOP DOWN I LOVE IT MAN IM EXCITED FOR THIS ONE TO PROGRESS
@ 6.7 Hours - I'm having a good time so far and at this price... it's hard to complain. Just be aware it is very early in development... but is already a lot of fun. If the game continues to improve it will be an exceptional value. @60.1 Hours 03-23-26 - I'm still having a blast. I restarted/wiped my character twice while learning the games mechanics. I'm level fifteen now. In a nutshell it's a top down Tarkov. In my opinion, even at full price, it's an exceptional value as it is. Still, it's early access and updates are pretty regular. With more quality of life features added over time it's only going to get better. There are a few bugs but nothing game breaking, yet. I've had no crashes. Some of what appeared to me to be bugs were due to me still learning the games features and how things work. There are currently seven maps with five more to come. I'd bet a lot of these maps change, possibly getting larger over time, as the single developer refines his game.
Giving it a positive review. So much potential to be a cool isometric Tarkov. I did encounter a bug where NPCs walk in a floaty jitter. Thats my only issue.
Tarkov lite topdown version. Less hardcore but still feels like getting punched in the d!ck just slightly less painful. Its in early access and WIP atm but gets regular updates from the dev.
余りにもハードコアすぎて無理
