Nothing is Forever

Excellent, probably in my top. Great mechanics added to the AVN, and that's rare. Most mechanics added to an AVN feel useless or laborious. Not so here. I was skeptical of the premise, but it worked well. The protagonist "lectures" at times, and normally that would annoy me, but it not only works here but I found the information conveyed relevant to the plot, useful, and well said. Excellent characterization. Biggest weakness is the visual work. The animations are short, rare, and generally underwhelming - but the scenes are still enjoyable and offer a lot to the audience. I was skeptical of what seems to be cell shaded art - I guess it's cell shaded? It's a term I've heard and it looks like it. But whatever it's called, the art put me off at first, but I came to enjoy it a great deal. Still, it's different. But ultimately in a good way. The amount of content is great. The plot is also great - with emotional and intellectual depth. One note - I wish I knew exactly how far along this game is in its development process. The EA information was vague and the game is certainly not done when the writer seemed to think it would be. It's ok that it's not "on time," I just wish the EA information was more...informative. Still, pretty strong recommend here.

What makes this game stand out is the kink mechanic where you earn points towards various kinks based on your in game decisions. If you want to play as a submissive you earn sub points and that leads to you seeing the submissive story for each girl. If you want nothing to do with being a sub you can pick the dom path and the relationship with each of the girls changes dramatically. You can be vanilla, sneaky, a man of honor… it really feels like you have actual choice about what you want (and don’t want) to see and experience. That brings me to the other reason “Nothing is Forever” stands above its peers, each girl has multiple paths based on your preferred kinks. Lots of other games in this genre essentially assign a kink to a character, so if you like a specific kink you mostly just focus on that one girl that has the kink. Typically there will be one Dominatrix or one Submissive girl and thus doesn’t really give much choice when playing. In this game there are wildly different paths for each girl which provides the player a real choice. As of writing this review, the game has 7 chapters complete out of a planned 10. The additional chapters will arrive via free updates not in a separate game that you have to pay more for. Another great decision by the devs. Nothing is Forever is the best visual novel that I have played for a number of reasons and I highly recommend it!

To adress the elephant in the room: The game is early access, unfinished and the next chapter is more than late. If you are still reading: Yes, do it. Buy the game. This is a really mature offering, not the wet dream of a 14 year old. The characters in the AVN are believeable, and well written. You can get the girl, or several girls at once. ... if you are prepared to deal with the consequences. And are willing to get to know them beforehand. You can explore kinks with them. Like BDSM. Or chess, or psychology. Or more BDSM. Or what can go wrong in relationships. (you know which kind...) Also, the time for a playthrough in the unfinished state is much. MUCH longer than in any number of "finished" AVNs - so these are the reasons for my thumbs up. Hope you enjoy as well.

Un pouce bleu MAIS... Je n'aime pas le MC, sa personnalité, je ne supporte pas les relations qu'il a avec les autres. Les choix dont on dispose ne le change pas tant que ça. Peut être à la fin du jeu, peut être qu'il évolue enfin dans sa tête? Toujours coincé par les même doutes... en un mot, chiant... Je n'arrive pas à m'identifier à l'univers du jeu, la culture U.S.A. est évidente. La façon dont ils interagissent entre eux, leur choix de vie. Ce n'est pas pour moi. Les perso féminin sont intéressantes, Mais je n'en pas trouvé au moins une pour moi. Si vous passez tout ces problèmes que j'ai eu, vous trouverez un AVN amusant avec un système de points basé sur des traits psychologique plutôt bien fait.

Very compelling game with a fresh and interesting mechanic and actually good conversations for once in this genre. But it's not finished. And this game desperately needs more episodes. Huge potential!

Starts slow but picks up as one goes along.

НЕ СОВЕТУЮ ПОКУПАТЬ СЕЙЧАС!! Игра в целом шикарная, фулл сюжет проходится за 10+- часов, и действительно годная, диалоги прописаны классно. НО ЕСТЬ ОДНО НО, игра же у нас в раннем доступе)) Контента обещали миллион и некоторые главы не доделаны, я так подозреваю по описанию разраба, сделано только 50%, но обновления не выпускались уже год, и судя по ответам разраба он и не собирается. Как на вечер потратить 5 долларов чтобы вздpoчнуть, вплоне сносно, а так в целом история не законченна, по этому самому закончить тоже тяжело)

That game is one big garbage heap.

The game seems dead. The dev is ghosting even the Patreon members. This did not stop them to already add a steam page and demo for their new game, however.
