This incompetent dev company decided to call it quits about 15 months after their online-only game-as-a-service "released" (by which I mean offered as a full release, but felt very Early Access). And, even though the service termination date is June 16th, I haven't been able to log in for the past few days (server connection error). Thousands of buyers are being ripped off, and there's no chance for a refund for the majority of them (unless you bought it after November 30th). NetEase's reason for killing this project? "Changes in business development", in their nonchalant announcement from March 16th, 2021. NetEase, you couldn't be more opaque and unremorseful, yet somehow still hoped for our continued support. That was weird. My only recommendation is that you blacklist this company and not support their future projects. This was a very scummy action to take and they should not have been allowed to do it, but here we are. This game has some beautiful moments and design, but was never more than a 5/10, though it showed plenty of promise despite little improvement post-release. But, NetEase chose to kill it before even finishing it and realizing its potential. I can only hope NetEase fades away with Nostos, but they'll probably resume making more mediocre free-to-play/pay-to-win junk to line their pockets. Well, at least their soundtrack is lovely, especially the main menu track titled "Varkundi". You can keep the music, too. Just install the game, go to the game's local files (..\steamapps\common\Nostos) and you'll find the .mp3 files in the root folder, and lossless .wav format in the WAV folder. Copy them, then delete this game forever. Edit: The soundtrack is by British-Australian composer Kevin Penkin, who also made the OSTs for Rising of the Shield Hero and Made in Abyss (which can be especially good - check out Hanezeve Caradhina).

I still kinda miss this game, it had a lot of potential and its sad to see something happen due to unfortunate circumstances. Before the game had been shut down it had a lot of bugs and needed a lot of work before it was done but the concept it was built around could have been a great game. I would love to have seen a finished more well-rounded version of this game but as it stood it was still in its early development days and wasn't able to capture enough of an audience due to its glitchy nature. It felt like a game with lots of ideas but not enough put in to mesh them together in to one cohesive experience. tl;dr: Lots of potential but the game wasn't ready yet
Be aware of the devs is future products. They released this game, then after the initial hype, released one update and abandoned the entire thing. Won't be buying anything from this studio again.
Leaving a review in hopes you revive this . i am one of the few people that got scammed by you guys releasing this game (which was so bugged you can barely play it ) and then ending service on it not soon after its release . i had more that 20 hours in the game (which was mainly because i had to keep redoing stuff due to the bugs ). This game, despite the bugs seemed to have an interesting story and really amazing music . come on guys - revive it . i know rivals has been funding a pretty penny in yalls pockets .
I love the idea of this game and the soundtrack, but I'm sad that they just gave up on it. This game had a lot of potential but instead of giving more time before release they rushed it like a lot of games released today.
Game had potential but NetEase decided to just say ♥♥♥♥ it and shut the game down instead, bet they'll do the same to their other games eventually, just hoping to get my 20 back for this now worthless game. Edit: No refund, don't give your time or money to NetEase. :)
basically just got robbed

You give time, patience and love. and your money.... and get kicked in the shins. thanks Netease for stealing my 40 Euros i will never look into another one of your games. consider me gone. Refund everyone, not just a fraction. Cheap move Not gonna lie. If you really cared let the community take over and make it open source. or just say it "we made a bad product and no thanks for the money. we earned it for doing nothing." On top of that all updates where not worth mentioning. Stability was ass and you never fixed jack. updates expanded on NOTHING added 1-5 items over the runtime MAX as a game advertised to VR it couldnt even be played in vr properly. Constant apologies with nothing to show for it. No communication for flatout a year. and then just a dry "Hyuck a guess we gon get ded" aint going to cut it. This is a testament to Netease as a company and how little the customer has to show for it. With unkind wishes, Ramen.
