Precision platformer that isn't overly sophisticated in mechanics. All you have to do is climb up. Your single ability is a jump, which is capable of being used three times in a row. Each jump requires a second to recover, but this is never a problem. The reason for this is due to a generous wall-jumping feature that allows you to go up any wall. However, because this would be too easy, the stage is riddled with traps and various enemies. The "fruit" under your control can withstand a lot of abuse. The health bar is replenished by catching small dots found along the main path or by waiting near a fire. This sounds good, but it rarely works because you tend to bounce off dangerous things straight into another. Since you’re climbing up, losing progress is something you’ll be seeing a lot. Traps and crumbling platforms make it very easy to fall down. While you do go through multiple stages, your progress is not always saved. This means you can keep falling until you reach the previous screen. Fortunately, there is a mechanic that allows you to place a checkpoint wherever you like. This costs one heart, which is frequently discovered during your ascent. The catch is that when you die, this checkpoint disappears, so you have to create a new one. There are also fires that serve as predetermined checkpoints. However, if you drop down, this will not help you. If you do not set a checkpoint, the game will restart where your body stops moving. This can be extremely cruel later in the game because you will be constantly bouncing from traps. Since you can’t skip or quickly restart, you need to wait and watch until your corpse completely stops. This is always very painful. A black heart is something to be on the lookout for. This generates an invincible foe who pursues you until you reach the next screen. They're extremely deadly because a single touch will kill you. Because many enemies cannot be killed, running away from them and being always on the go is a recurring theme. A leech, for example, will cling to you and kill you the instant you take a break. The only way to get rid of it is to make your way to the next fire. A lethal line that appears at random across the screen, on the other hand, is when you must remain perfectly still. The game’s pretty fair except for the ridiculous slide mechanic. Instead of binding it to a separate button, you need to run and press down. Because of tight spaces and countless traps, you only have one shot at this. Impossible mode unlocks when you beat the game. You can only take one hit and there’s no option to create checkpoints.
This game is so much fun. I originally saw it in a gameplay from JacktheWise and I laughed so hard I cried because of how much rage this game inspires in the best way! It's kinda like Celeste and it's way difficult but equally rewarding. Give it a shot!
Очень крутая недооценённая супермитбоеподобная игра на рекорд. Её должны заметить стримеры. https://youtu.be/wgaOQC5A-Nk
I've only been able to get up to 8m in my first runs of the game. But I can tell within the little time I've played and reviewing the updates that it's a solid game. The art is awesome, NoRoy is such a cute little guy that contrasts the dark environment very well and the movement is super smooth. It is very challenging but with the current state of the game and having things like checkpoints, it definitely seems like it's one of those games where it might take you a while to complete due to the difficulty, but it will just be that much more rewarding once you finish the game. Definitely not an impossible game to play and it's really immersive when you get to a point where you have to really think about your next moves. Overall, I think it's great and looking forward to seeing possible options for players (not me) who like to make the game more challenging with the ability to change the difficulty.
If I'm being honest it's not really my kind of game. But that's okay, It's still a game with effort and passion put into it. The only reason it's not for me is because I'm not really into the games that inspired it (IE Getting over it or The End is Nigh). But that doesn't mean you'll hate it or that it's a bad thing! You just have to know what you're getting into before you play it. The atmosphere is solid, the gameplay mechanics are all right but could use some better explaining or a tutorial for them (IE a safe place that demonstrates the mechanic in a controlled environment before throwing you in the deep end). Though, it can be argued that figuring it out is the appeal TLDR, it's a great game and you'll probably love it if the description caught your attention. It's not perfect and isn't some groundbreaking master piece (That's okay, not everything has to be revolutionary) but, for what it is, it does it as best as it can be so overall a 8.7/10 for me!
Hardest SMB clone I've ever played. It will make you hate your life, it will make you blame the game, the mechanics, the controls, but really you just suck. GOTTA GIT GUD I do think the controls have some bugs. I've noticed that intertia continues after it should not in some cases, such as when you stop, and then do a moved jump from a stopped position, your former inertia may carry over into the next jump, forcing you to jump too far forward (since you were from a stopped position). Small bugs like this need to be fixed, but overall it is a very fun game.
