Nobody Sleeps Tonight had so much potential, but unfortunately, it falls flat due to its repetitive gameplay and lack of variety. Initially promising with its intriguing concept of navigating nightmares, the game quickly devolves into a monotonous cycle that fails to hold the player's interest for long. One of the biggest issues with Nobody Sleeps Tonight is its repetitiveness. The gameplay loop consists of wandering through similar-looking environments, solving simple puzzles, and avoiding enemies in a predictable manner. After a few rounds of this, the novelty wears off, leaving players feeling like they're trapped in a never-ending nightmare of sameness. Adding to the frustration is the lack of meaningful progression or variety. Despite the potential for diverse dreamscapes and imaginative challenges, the game feels stagnant and uninspired. There's little incentive to keep playing when each level feels like a carbon copy of the last, devoid of any real surprises or innovation. Furthermore, the game's attempts at horror fall flat due to their predictability. Jump scares are overused and lose their effectiveness quickly, while the atmosphere lacks the tension and dread necessary to keep players on edge. Instead of feeling terrified, I found myself bored and disengaged, longing for something to break up the monotony. In conclusion, Nobody Sleeps Tonight is a disappointment that fails to live up to its intriguing premise. With its repetitive gameplay, lack of variety, and uninspired scares, it quickly becomes a tedious slog that leaves players wishing they could wake up from this nightmare and move on to something more engaging. Save yourself the trouble and give this one a pass.
The game is pretty good right now but, the game is quite laggy as it doesn't appear to unload the grass when being far away from it, there really is no point of killing enemies as they font give anything. I would recommend trying it, but turn down the jumpscares. The combat is quite weird and the items blend in too well with the environment to the point of not being able to see them most of the time. When underground, you get stuck on basically everything there. In my opinion, there could be more to the game than just finding your friend and getting stuff. 6/10 would recommend. -3/12/2024 Edit: Just to add to my thoughts, I personally even though I got the game for free, I dont feel like it should cost $5 USD. There is not nearly enough content in the game yet to justify $5 although, it might be worth it as the dev is putting out more updates in the future. -3/16/24
I received this game from Keymailer for testing. We tested it in pairs. At the beginning we were very confused and walked around the entire map for a long time. We screamed, ran and that even though we decided to stay together at the beginning. It's all perfectly timed and we had a lot of fun putting the puzzle together. What we noticed is that one or the other creature was stuck in the wall and suddenly stood in front of you and also that the sounds were sometimes very, very loud. All in all, we had a lot of fun and found a solid horror game for in between. Thank you for letting me test this game. I will definitely take another look with a group.
bring more new monsters to the game!!
Why is it always that one friend who takes you out to weird forest and then ends up dead himself but we survive
First of all, I want to thank the guys for the opportunity to try out the game in early access. We watched the game on Twitch with chat, and here is our feedback: 1. The text in the comments that appear is too fast, you don’t have time to read it. Make it possible to collate the text yourself. 2. Give a warning that it is better to play the game with headphones for greater immersion. And about the fact that the game has VERY loud sounds. Allow you to adjust the sound volume before starting the game. 3. In the dungeon, stones/entrails lying on the ground make it difficult to run. Perhaps this was intended? 4. Sound streamers need to be redesigned, they only scare you the first time, then they just get annoying. 5. Mouse controls are inverted by default, why? 6. The default mouse sensitivity is too high. 7. Need a hint on how to light a fire, once it caught fire, but the second time it didn’t. (Bug) 8. After meeting a monster, when you are moved to a dungeon, the quick access panel disappears. 9. Adjusting the sounds of screams/pursuits does not work correctly. Either too loud or inaudible at all. 10. If the dungeons are generated procedurally, they are not very interesting. ._. 11. The resource of weapons is extremely limited, and they are almost impossible to find at the level 12. The radius of how enemies are triggered is not clear 13. The crafting process is not clear - it doesn’t exist in general, but then how can you get weapons to beat mobs in dungeons? I hope my feedback will be useful and you will make the game more convenient and interesting. At this stage I can’t recommend the game to other guys. <3
a nice horror game with really big map, and a rand map generator as well which makes each run fresh! i quite like the dear skull monster design. the dungeon was kinda hard to know where you exactly are, its kinda becomes a maze if you goo a bit deep in.
This game does not work at all. Map is too big, Objectives are unclear, Nothing is scary just very very loud and irritating. All the positive reviews are bots made give the game a positive rating. Don't bother and save your time.
