A familiar top-down experience with surprising and inventive game mechanics. The game is beautiful, featuring pixel-art monsters, animations, and landscapes that beg me to uncover more. Play as two characters with distinct personalities and abilities. Explore a cosy town as the intriguing and mysterious tale unfolds. A delightful balance of relaxing storytelling mixed with quasi-challenging combat that entertains, surprises and delights. There may be a few minor bugs to work out, but No Name Village is worth supporting. A gem in the making.
If you love a Zelda-Soulslike 2D pixel art game with beautiful art and animation along with a rather interesting and dark story, then I think you'll enjoy this game. I freakin loved it! The characters were interesting and had their own personality, and it was a story that started warm and cozy and ended with a grim yet satisfying ending. My only complaints with the game are the occasional bug that I ran into, but for the most part it was nothing crazy. The only game breaking bug I encountered was a bit of a weird one while I was fighting one of the last bosses in the game, the Parasite. It happened when both me and the boss managed to land a killing blow on each other simultaneously, and it caused the game to essentially freeze where I had to reload my save. Thankfully the dev was generous with auto-saving and it loaded me in right back at that boss fight. All around, an amazing game! It's not super long, but not super short either, and I was very satisfied with the length of the game, and will probably play through it again in the future.
